TH @ 1st Birthday

** Delayed Entry **

My nephew turned 1 years old in April * yes, I know, as usual I am late in my updates * =P *
Immediate family members and friends gathered for a simple celebration to mark this milestone.

The celebration was over lunch, and strangely enough, he seems to know that he is the highlight of the day...

Grandma and Granddad bought these bags of fruits - watermelon, honeydew, apples, oranges, mangoes for the party on top of much others - in which my bro and I spent like 45mins cutting away. I was like - people come for the cake not the fruits! What's with the fruits, wey! And for goodness sake - MANGOES! Do you know how hard it is to cut MANGOES into slices - what more a plateful of it?!!??
Please - for modern parties in the year 2000 and beyond, do not serve your guests with plate after plate of fruits... A bowl of fruit salad would be much appreciated...

The birthday cake - made by a close friend.

Astro boy to mark the resemblance of it to my nephew - and also, due to limited options, hehehe

Tradition - Birthday shoes and learning scroll for the 1 year old from the grandparents. Dont ask - am not sure what that meant... * =P *

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Tradition : The 1st year old must have a big at a chic drumstick - again, do not know the reason behind that...

My birthday present for him - happily hitting the notes away. Damn, kids' toys are very expensive nowadays...
Reason for choosing this toy? Well, he likes to bang hard on his toys and this fits the desciption by creating much pleasant sound when he does his destructive acts on his toys. And also, me like the moo-moo design which also mark the chinese zodiac of his.

The party ends with another chinese tradition - apparently the first item the one-year old grab on his 1st birthday gives a glimpse of what the future interest / future career path lies for the child.
TH grabbed the pen first then turned to grab the guitar.

More pics will be posted on my Multiply for baby-viewing pleasure * =) *
