My First Pairs of Clarks & Crocs

I have always been cheap with shoes. * :P *

Indeed I am a person who has never spent over rm100 for a pair of shoes / heels/ sandals / any form of footwear. I think my most expensive pair was only slightly hitting the rm80 margin * LOL * Coming from a conservative Hakka family where, erm… being frugal is in practice whenever possible, as well as coming from an average family, has not allowed me the luxury to own expensive stuff, what more spending so much money on a pair of shoes.

As I grow older, the situation gets better * Thankfully! * J * and slowly I am blessed with the opportunity to own the finer things (at least by my standards of “finer”, not those “finer” standards of the filthy rich * :P *) and I guess, yeah, my background prepared me to appreciate these opportunities well.

Believe it or not (I myself still find it hard to digest…) that I actually spent rm600 that day buying FOUR pairs of shoes at one go! * !!! * Purchased 2 pairs of Clarks, a pair of Crocs and one no name punya but looks good as well as cost-effective for work.* heehee * Oh yeah, enough sensible shoes to supply me through year 2008! * LOL *

My Clarks - both very sensible designs for work * LOL * But then again, the company I worked with isnt so particular about our dress code, so I can still use my ribbon-lace-pink-fur-girly stuff if I want to. Yay!

My MaryJane Crocs!

The cheapest here - rm35 - normal brand, but it was so comfy,I got it nevertheless * :p *

Wondering what’s with the sudden splurge? Got opportunity to get these branded shoes at a discounted rate, and my Mum was insisting that I get good quality shoes for work that can last long. Each pair is about 30% off the retailing price, which apparently, these brands don’t usually give discounts or go on sale.

In a way its good, stretch the ringgit a lil bit, but girls will always be girls – we will always want NEW stuff! * LOL * Regardless of how new or durable or still working the items we own! * muahahahahaha! *

For SP - Dearest

I came across this some time ago at Pavillion. Got it for H's belated birthday actually, but when it first caught my eyes, I KNEW that SP would like it! * LOL *

Hence, smart lass like me got it for H and at the same, time, dedicate this to SP * :P * Hey - kill 2 birds with 1 stone what! * LOL * Don't worry, SP - will get one for you when you are back * hehehe * It doesnt taste good anyway - just the presentation is cute... * heehee *

Ta-daa~~ Doraemon cake for SP!

I do not know how they did it, it looked as if its being printed or something on a piece of sugar sheet. You like it SP? Mau? But tak sedap wor.... How?

Another reason why I got it is that it is so cute! Note the size! Good to use for celebrations that involved heavy eating where the stomachs cannot take in dessert but need a cake for tradition's sake * wink * wink * :) *

CNY Taboo

Haloo! I'm back to blog-sphere... * heehee * Hope my loyal friends still supports my site! * LOL *

Alrite - I gonna have plenty of back-dated entries - so bear with me. CNY just left, fast how time flies. This year, I broke one of CNY's taboo * LOL *

I am not sure if most or any of you are aware of this tradition / pantang-larang / myth, but having a traditional MUM entitles me to "abide" some of these "laws" regardless I like it or not as long as she is alive or I am living under her roof * :P *

I will not bore you with all of it, just the one I broke * :P * According to my Mum, its a taboo to buy any type of shoes during the month of CNY - yup, even after the 15 days of CNY. As the word shoes is pronounced as " haai" in Cantonese, they pantang-la wanna buy shoes in the 1st month of CNY as it sort of signifies that the whole year will bring bad luck that will induce you to sigh all year round - which is not something good.

BUT - I went straight ahead and bought a pair of heels on the FOURTH day of CNY - double bad luck! With the number FOUR some more! * LOL * I am in desperate need for shoes for work and they are having sale.... * :P * Can't blame me for not resisiting, right? * LOL *

This is it - and yes, my MUm dunno yet - LOL cos she wasnt home when I came back from the mall * muahahahaaha * Or else... So I am crossing my fingers and toes that the taboo wont come true * :P *

Just a random picture - a flower arrangement I made for the 1st day of CNY - my 1st sis chipped in as she - as usual - the bossy one with many instructions - ended up I let her finish it * heehee *
