Lucky Shot!

Those dart or ball throw games at theme parks where you secretly hope your bf/hubby/date will win you a teddybear regardless how cheap or small the toy is - never fail to lure ppl to part with good hard earned money for 30secs (or less) of limelight.

I am proud to say this time I have been a sucker whom spent some time n money on this and to my surprise - I won this at my first attempt!!!

A small prize but to get it at my first shot is worth the glee to my ego for a few days * heehee *

Hello Kitty Nails

Guess what kind of crazy thing I did this birthday?

Attempt of kawaii Hello Kitty nail art!

It started off as a joke with the manicurist of how sometimes I am amazed with those super fancy nail art Jap girls have with elaborate 4D add on to super long nails with hello kitty, stones and flowers and all.

I seriously never thought she would get serious and insist I have a dose of Hello Kitty too. She shared with me her "vision" of how I would look like with it as well as show me some sample pics on her phone.

And the meow in me thought - why not for once have something kawaii before I turn 50?

So here it goes... And I liked it!

Oh - did I mention that the manicurist's name is TOMATO. Yup. Don't ask me why, but I had a feeling that Miss Tomato would do a good job as she sounds passionate about her "vision" and hey, who else better to trust to do a kawaii art if not a kawaii person herself? LOL

Nevertheless , a memorable experience this is, indeed. =)

Instinct Accurate

OMG! My suspicion for the past 24 hours is correct!

Another validation that mother instinct is there and accurate. Trust instincts!

Though happy that my radar is still good, sad to know that good things in life are most of the time spoilt...

Too good to be true, hor...

Weekend Fun

I couldnt resist this - 3D Angry Birds! *LOL*

Saw this on sale at only RM19.90 - not ori product, of course. Thought - what the heck - something I can play with my nephew for he may get bored with it in 30mins. So at 20 bucks - good enough.

It was actually quite fun, the annoying part is to collect n rebuild the forts. Lots of laughter and most of all, that cheeky big smile of his saying "thank you, saam yi" and him jumping with glee over the new toy - made my day. * =) *

Yummy Nasi Lemak

** Please pardon the pic quality - dunno why it's distorted each time i losd the pics. Am not sure its my MacMac prob or what - it's like a jackpot game each load... Argh!!! *

I had this at House & Co in BSC - super yummy! The nasi in this nasi lemak are actually long- grain rice and is in a slightly green color. And I love the presentation - invokes the tummy of every glutton with the large plate filled to the rims.

A lil pricey - but worth the yummy-ness if you would like quality local food over lunch :) A rather nice place to chillax too with the comfy chair and makes you feel at home

Happy Raya 2011

Selamat Hari Raya!

It had been a while since i had any Raya mood. Not that i have much this year but it's definitely there when one has an invitation to attend an open house lunch.

It really had been ages since I go to an open house right on the 1st to 2nd day of Raya - most invitations come within the month of Raya AFTER day 1 / 2...

Am going for one today - so wish me luck as I am still awake at this hour... waiting for my iTunes download. Bad choice to do it in the middle of the night... I bet I will look more like Hantu Raya later...

Nevertheless, one improvement to my otherwise lazy 3 days is that I flexed my fingers wrapping a mini hamper for the open house later... I realized that I am out of many materials - time to stock up and restart my hobby perhaps?

Another one Achieved

Remember the day dreams (or nite) we used to have when we were young on how good if we have this and how I hope that I will achieve/have it one day?

A recent incident made me reflect - how many of my "dreams" came true.

And to my pleasant surprise, some of it did come true. Perhaps the law of attraction is stronger than you think? * :) *

I found that emotionally and in relationships, there are plenty I have had as well as lost. I have always grown to believe, that it's always good to have/experience it even for a fleeting moment rather than not having/experienced it at all. As this allows me to be able to reminisce the good (or not so good) ol' days rather than have zero memory.

People changes, priorities changed. Relationships end, choices altered. Looking back, indeed there is a silver lining under each gloomy cloud. You are who you are - you can't change it, but to learn how to embrace it and live life to the fullest being happy.

I found that there are many things I wished I had, I have now managed to have it. It may be a simple thing as getting myself a designer purse to owning my own home (in which this I have not yet achieved) but nevertheless, the realization that I made it brings a whole new meaning to me.

Material things aside, in which we can always work hard to achieve. The only worry I have now would be if I ever find love again, or if it ever found me... Love comes in many forms - the one type that I worry most if I can ever have again would be a mutual one.

While I hope and wait that love is still there for me in this lifetime, perhaps I should focus on making other dreams come true? * :) *

Pisang Hijau

A colleague recently brought these to share - PISANG HIJAU!

Well, what so special? Banana wad...

Well, my friends, this is not Pisang Hijau because it wasnt ripe, but it is indeed called Pisang Hijau! ** LOL **

This is a breed of banana from East Malaysia, my colleague actually had the seed flown over and planted it in her garden. It may be green, but it's ripe and ready to be eaten.

I have never been a fan of bananas and tried it for the sake of trying - oh boy, it was yummy! * LOL * It doesnt have that "liat" taste most bananas leave behind on your tongue after consumption.

And of course, the size does matter as well * wink wink * Me no likey small bananas * LOL * sounded so wrong, don't I? * LOL * No offense! Just a personal preference * wink wink *

The pen side by side to illustrate the *ahem!* size... * LOL *

Lemon + Ginger + Ginseng

Was attracted to M&S latest infusion tea bags.

This is definitely a rare combination (to me especially) and I find it very soothing to the soul to sip on. Especially after rounds of meetings and stress at work.

Also, kudos for the M&S team for the very chic packaging as well !

Ikan Bakar @ Midvalley Foodcourt

I have always wonder what's with the long queue at one particular stall in the Midvalley Megamall's foodcourt (the one next to Machines above Toys R Us).

Furthermore, if you take a step into the foodcourt, you will find it pretty "dead" with hardly a crowd (unlike most foodcourts in shopping malls) and the look of the food stalls make your appetite forgotten.

However, ONE - this one particular stall never fail to have a crowd queuing up in front, to the extend they have a bell system to ping you when your food is ready for collection.

What yummilicious food do they offer?

......................

Ikan Bakar (and of course, lala bakar, sotong bakar too...)

My initial thoughts were - WTF is so great about this ikan bakar stall in the middle of an otherwise dead foodcourt? And also to the extend of the long queue? In a foodcourt wor?

My curious taste buds await no temptation any longer and I worked on my best behaviour to lure VGC to go queue up for me * =P *

After FIFTEEN Minutes of queue and anticipation...

I present you ------ Ikan Pari + Lala bakar

And... DAMN!!! Memang sedap wey!!! Its the killer sambal that makes you wanna eat like 10 plates of rice!!! Fish not that fresh but again - that unforgettable sambal...

The portion is quite small hence suggest you to buy a bigger set especially if you likes spicy grilled stingray. And yeah, worth the 15 mins wait * winkwink *

SP : I think you will like this, hehehe

Fuzzy Ballerinas

** DELAYED ENTRY **

I simply cannot resist this pair of fuzzy ballerinas from Uniqlo...

Super comfy and is now my office buddy... hehehe... Keeps my toes warm too!

Midnight muse

My eyes are really tired but my heart is willing them to stay awake for no obvious reason, which in fact I find it unhealthy.

Unhealthy in the sense of it triggering my mind to wander into dangerous territories of my memoir.

Can't help but to feel everytime I tumble upon it - that tug on my heart. It had been ages but why oh why those feelings strikes. As if I had made a huge mistake, caused miseries and damaged.

Things happened for a reason despite us understand them or not. It may be for destined reasons however my heart still got tugged each time.

I missed having that special someone who can draw a smile on my face with a mere cheeky glance. Misses how safe it feels to be in his embrace sheltered from the pelting rain. Misses that warmth of his hand holding mine emanating love through his touch. Misses that shy peck of a quick kiss on my cheek before goodbye. Misses hearing heartbeats which I know beats for me.

Ah... Monday blues arrived earlier that I thought...

And so I whipped out a pic of Mr Boo and she professionally produced this for rm12...

Tech Savvy Seniors

Having coffee at Old Town White Coffee usually means serving my taste buds a faux feel of olden days' style coffee and toasted bread.

As much as they claim they retain the "taste" of the original white coffee, and as much as we hope to find the taste there, somehow we will be surprised by what we can find there.

Just like now, seated at the table next to mine, sits an elderly couple. Whom hit at least 60 years old. Uncle sits there sipping his ICED BLENDED white coffee and typing away on what looked like a brand new laptop. His wifey, dotingly sit next to him, occasionally stole glance to the screen, waiting for her hubby to finish whatever he is working on. This right smack in the midst of tables of younsters tapping away on their machines and/or Iphone.

Ahh... an elderly couple having coffee at old town white coffee but got carried away into the virtual world...

I wonder if I am still alive or still able to be up to date to be out yumcha and use free wi-fi when I hit that age * =) *

And also if the Uncle will whip out an Iphone....

Goodies at Jalan Batai

** Super delayed entry **

Hidden in the cluster of tall buildings and highways at Damansara Heights, there is this kopitiam which sells delicious noodles to feed the hungry office ladies and gentlemen.

My colleagues have always been talking about the famous noodles and rojak at Jalan Batai, and finally got to check it out.

The much talked about fish-head noodle soup stall

The much talked about wan tan noodle soup stall

The much talked about Rojak Buah. Well, indeed it was good, but I somehow prefer the one at Sin Kong, Taipan * hehehe *

The fish head noodle soup - I have never liked eating this dish as I am afraid of the fishy smell which always overwhelms me. However, this one is fragrant and apparently they use very fresh fish.

The wan tan mee was good as well. But it is really a nightmare trying to get a seat to eat as well as the afternoon heat. And mind you, it is those typical old, not properly maintained kopitiam - so dont think about eating there if you do not have a strong stomach! However, on the day you really in the mood to get good food for lunch and willing to brave the heat + crowd, do go over to Jalan Batai and reward your taste buds.

BB Cream - Skin 79

Of all the craze and hype of BB Cream which recently seemed to mellow down, it was highly impressive when it hits the market. I, am one who was impressed with this creation.

However, of the many many brands who sells their BB cream, so far, this is one I would recommend for fellow beauties out there to try.

The texture is really smooth and color blends in well to your skin tone without looking cakey. its easy to blend the cream in your skin as well, without you needing so much patting. Of course, the multi function BB Cream which promises so many much benefits - how can one resist right?

The best thing is that the coverage is complete but leave you looking natural. You dont look like you have a can of paint on your face and my pig-skin feels comfy with thoughout the whole day. Most foundations or BB cream irritate my skin in a way where by mid-day, my skin will itch. This one did not cause such prob.

By far, this is one of my fav BB cream. It can be a lil pricey in the family of BB cream, but if you could get it overseas, it appears to be cheaper than to buy it in KL.
