Beijing - Wangfujing

Went to this place called Wangfujing - which is some sort of shopping area. It opens at night, and is a popular place for tourists to shop. Not that cheap, but then again, as long as you are a tourist there, nothing will be cheap. However, if you can get a local to haggle for you, one can get real bargains.

The streets of Wangfujing.

Memang nice to see everyone in winter wear, and the girls are so stylo - with long coats and boots... * heehee * If I were to be there longer, would have gotten boots too... I look like the ugliest tourist there, with my ugly jacket, bulky with all the layers of clothes on my already very bloated body and my pouch of belongings underneath and frizzy winter hair, ughhh!!!

Everywhere in Beijing is packed with people - many many of them

There is this street which houses small stalls selling finger food, local street food and those souvenir stuff - abit like petaling street, just cleaner and nicer, well organised stalls.

Grilled Jagung - tak sedap actually, their jagung seems to taste diff, and after grilled, tasted gooey...

Chinese-style Kebab

Candied fruits! Much much much cheaper here, with more fruits on a stick and bigger fruits too. price starts from rm2...

I had the most delicious candied strawberries!

They have those lok-lok - you can have all sorts of meat, spare parts...

And mini scorpions too! Eeek!

A very nice place to go as you get to look at the local food n stuff... a good place to sight see at night, especially in the cold weather.

Beijing - My Lodging

My 1st impression of the city? COLD * LOL *

This is also my maiden experience of winter, and I totally had no idea how cold it can be. Looks can be deceiving, it was real clear and sunny day, but the moment you step out of the building, its freezing cold! Ironically, I was argueing with WL that it wont be that cold that I dont really new to buy that pink coat from ZARA, regret overwhelmed me in Beijing * =P *

Its the wind - was very windy and had to adjust quickly to the cold as we will head out to go sight-seeing after checking in. Posted pics of the city along the way fr airport to the hotel in Multiply, its an impressive city with lots of tall building and highways.

One hell of an impressive building I saw was this - the CCTV building. And it was real tall as well.

My room was just a basic one - not as nice as I anticipate it would be. Located in the CBD, it is convenient as it attached to a very, super highclass mall. The mall is superhighclass as it is something like our starhill, but with even much more independent designer labels, in which not available in Malaysia. The locals mentioned that the mall is not for normal folks shopping, only the very rich - of course.

My room.

View from my room

The toilet - WL requested mau tengok gambar tandas * =P *

The following pics are from my colleague's room - she went there for an assignment of 3 months, and she was kind enough to let me bunk in for the night of my extended stay so I can save some $$$. Thanks, G!

Of course her room was much nicer... * hehehe * Here for you to compare - again, pay more and you shall get more * =P *

Her toilet - with more toiletries, more mirrors

Her room. Basically her room has more things and the decor is nicer lor...

Beijing - Maiden Business Class Flight

Okay - I think I better take a break and start posting entries about my Beijing trip. Initial plan was to blog all my mega delayed food entries, but I think people will start to get bored reading about food all the time and I do owe some ppl summaries of my Beijing trip * =) * More Beijing pics is in the process of being uploaded into my multiply, as usual, only my contacts get to view it - sowwee!

The trip to Beijing gave me a whole new set of experiences, in which I am grateful for being able to have it. This is the first time jakun-me get to travel via business class flight - yeah, was excited... * heehee *

First new experience was the opportunity to kick back at the 1st & Business Class lounge at KLIA. Memang macam hotel saje, complete with food and drinks. The syiok part is that they have shower rooms for you to freshen up should you need.

When I went to take a leak, I cant help but to be wow-ed by this...

Branded toiletries! Did not expect these, thought they would give some ordinary shampoo n soaps - mana tau they give Loccitane and Aigner stuff!
Should have taken a shower there, man! * =P *

The 1st & Business Class lounge at KLIA.

Beijing Airport

Like how they have the customer satisfaction tool at wach of the counters, where you immediately rate the service of the officers - on the spot. Good way to gather feedback - fast and you get the collect feedback from each visitor.

On the flight itself, was good. Seats are spacious, but still the crappy airline food. Difference is that they serve you appetizers, more frequent drinks trip and of course, nicer loo.
Well, the loo looks the same, just that here, they have more toiletries for usage and filled with the smell of Loccitane fragrance.
I really really like the Aigner hand lotion!!! Must own it someday!
I brought a friend back from Beijing - and she travelled in style! * LOL *

Guess who? * Yeah, she had to "hide" in the brown bag when it is not suitable for the owner to be seen hugging a Panda walking about in Public * =P *

Prove that I really adopted her from Beijing! * =P *

As there were some empty seats, my panda gets to have a seat by her own * hehehe *

Panda : The air stewardess say must fasten seat belt ar! * =P *
Overall, yeah, money definitely the culprit. It does makes a big difference to the comfort of your travel, in which will affect your mood for the trip * =) *

SP & Shoes

To take a break from me trying to upload all my makan posts, I hereby insert something non-food related as a breather for my reader(s) from food pics overload * =P *

I like this pic very much of my SP-dearest, taken during her last trip back home. She was having a ball of her time shoe-shopping - I cant resist to take a pic of her with her loots * LOL *

Pretty, contented SP with her findings... Please note the tower of shoes! * LOL * Yes SP, we accept with sincere belief that this is your 1-2 years worth of your supply until your next trip home * =P *

This is to remind SP that she did not keep her promise - she lured me into buying this pair of Charles & Keith heels with the condition that she is buying something there as well, mana tau only me the one walk out with a shopping bag... * haih... *

* heehee * Just to tease you, SP, you know I love you lots lots! * huggie huggies! *

P/s : This is my first pair of Charles & Keith from Malaysia, still prefer to shop from Singapore's somehow...

Vienna Bagels

* Another Super Delayed Entry *

Fret not, no need to go to vienna for their bagels * =P * With the hype of specialty donuts crashing the town, many may not notice this small kiosk selling Vienna Bagels.

Like the specialty donuts concept, these bagels come in plenty of colors and flavors. A bit more expensive than donuts, but it is a very filling finger food compared to donuts.

A very classy box to store your bagels - complete with strings to carry the box hence no need for plastic bags... * hehehe *

Ta-daa! They have salty (cheese and bacon toppings, etc) and sweet ones (cinnamon, almond, etc)

And of course, a cool, choc drink to wash them bagels down boosts your carb energy after a whole day of shopping * =P * (the drink wasnt that good actually)

Definitely something to try if you seek a refreshing change from eating donuts * =) *

Chocolate Fondue

* Super Delayed Entry *

Am not sure if this is the same brand of the one SP had in NZ from her blog, maybe SP can help validate? * =P *

Could not resist the temptations of Choc, Pammie and I tried this – and yup, enjoyed it tremendously!

The choc was milky – just right and accompanied by plenty of fresh fruits. Unlike most other places which offers choc fondue, this gave plenty of fruits, and not cheaper fruits like apples and lots of sweet biscuits. Simply yummy!!!

Look at the beautiful color of milk chocolate!

The array of fruits

Note the pile of fruits - all in good presentation as well!

And the price is alright, not as pricey as you it may look.

How can I resist a Choc drink to compliment the fondue? * =P *

Look at the cool visual effect on the glass.
As they offer all things chocolate, where else can chocoholics like us hang out? * wink wink * A very good place for any choc fix!

Buffet At 1World

* Mega Delayed Entry *

Yup, this was like, almost a year ago * =P * SP so wanna cubit this Fat Panda-Meow * =P * I will blog-marathon all for you wan, dun worry * wink wink *

Had a super heavy, yet extremely satiating lunch - had buffet with colleagues at 1World hotel. I really like this place, definitely a good place to go for a leisurely pigging time while catching up with friends, accompanied by good food. Sorry ah, forgot about the price * heehee *

I really like, the reason is that here, they have a huge variety of food - from Western to Italian to Chinese to Japanese to Indian... Just go and see for yourselves!!! The food was very fresh, taste good as well. Too bad it was a working lunch, or I definitely will pig a whole 3 hours there! * =P *

Mushroom soup - super creamy!!! Yet still preserve a pungent mushroom flavour

My cold appetiser - pretty! Food presentation here is very good as well. Lurking in the back is my pasta - it was so-so saje...

My Jap Platter! Yummy, thick slices of salmon! They host a wide array of other seafood and sashimi, but I forgo those as my tummy not very tolerant for that and dont want to take the risk as it was a working day.

Random picks - yummy nontheless.

The have the chocolate fountain there - how can I resist? * =P *

Marshmallow, dragon fruit, grapes - I was a lil late and the strawberries were gone * =( * I like the choc, good quality choc, not those eeky, cheapo ones * =P *

My platter of desserts - as the choc fountain was lack of my fav strawberries, I compensate by attacking other desserts - not bad too. I likey their ice-creams as well - not those commercial tubs...

Oh well, a good one to try should you have the craving for buffet - the other plus - you can walk away the calories with OneUtama shoppingmall just nextdoor * wink wink *

Korean BBQ Chic

* Super duper delayed entry *

Just a short entry to mark this - Korean BBQ Chic. This shop appears to be a lil like fastfood joints, but claims that theirs are healthier choice as they uses olive oil to cook their food, even to deep-fry their chics...

Not too bad, but nothing special to lure me back for a 2nd helping. A good try though * =) *

Mask Mania

I know I have this urge... em.. "passion" to own creams, lotions and all things smelling good, and recently seems to own way too much face masks... Yeah, facemask are never too much, hor? * =P * Hey, we need all the hydration we can! * =P *

Pammie was my partner in crime, helping me to get these for cheap cheap cheap warehouse sale!

* muahahaha! * Sheetmasks 4 for rm10, clarifying mask 4 for rm10 - in which each one has 2 application = 24 application! * hahaha! *

Ya ler, on top of that I have few more bottles and packets of sheetmask - new * hahaha * Damn, must stop my crazy buying already * =P *

Mango Ice Dessert

* A random, super belated post * =P *

Had these during one of my trips to Sunway Pyramid. Unable to resist Mangoes, ordered this at a rather expensive price (forgot the actual price, but i think its almost rm10).

Its actually Mango cubes + Mango Flavoring + Mango Sorbet + light sweetened milk over shaved ice. A lil too sweet for my liking, but it will satiate mango lovers with a sweet tooth for ice desserts * =) *

Oh ya, believe or not, I manage to smuggle it into the cinema! * LOL * Couldn't finish it and was late for the movie... And actually ATE it in the cinema! * h0h0h0! * wink * wink *

Definitely the most extreme food I ate in a cinema - yet * =P *

Quick Dry

Found this cute item on sale - Quick Dry! It is actually liquid to be dropped on top of painted nails to induce them to dry faster!

Not so cheap, over rm10 for one small bottle. It does make your nail dry faster but not immediately * =P *

A good motivator for me to experiment more on my nails * =P * Shall blog the pics of my experiments" soon... * heehee *

P/s : SP, I bought my digicam n phone adi * heehee*

Yau Char Kwai

I have always like to eat Yau Char Kwai dip into hot Coffee * heehee *

Its not easy to locate good Yau Char Kwai nowadays. Curious with the mushrooming new franchise on Yau Char Kwai at major shopping malls lately, I decided to give it a try.

At a hefty rm1.40 per piece, it is abit larger than the ones sold at tepi jalan stalls. This shop even sell other food which compliment the Yau Char Kwai such as porridge as well as other types of fried stuff which usually offered along with Yau Char Kwai.

Couldnt resist to try it with hot soya. The Yau Char Kwai was really good - very crunchy unlike the sofy kind we usually get. YUMMY!!!
But the soya wasnt good - I will much prefer if it is thicker in texture.

Sweet potato balls - still the one sold at Petaling Street is better * =) *

At least now, I know where to find yummy Yau Char Kwai to satiate my cravings * wink wink *

Muka Rakus

Another evident that where there is a makan-will, one will do what it takes and not care a damn thing else...

I have a box of popcorn that were no longer crunchy, instead of throwing it away, gave it to "dustbin"-Fat-Luck. Me and Bro cant help but laugh away at the way Fat-Luck do what it takes to get to it.

He stuffed his WHOLE FACE into the box! * LOL * Yeah, the box was only a third full * =P *

Upclose shot for a better look...

The funny thing is, he did not pull his face put despite how we move or shake the box! * LOL *

See? Where there's a makan-will, die-die must get to eat it till habis! * LOL *
