Cute Discovery

On one of my grocery shopping trips, I came across this very cute item on the pets' corner that I MUST take its pic and post it here. Being a hamster fan who are banned from keeping them as pets, I still occasionally browse the hamsters' section - just to look at the cute pics and stuff.

Somehow, this is one item which caught my eye and I was * and still am * so impressed...

Looks like an ordinary pack of hamster food or some thing rite? Upon closer examination.....

Hamster Bathing Sand!!! * LOL * Sooooo CUTE, hor!!! Well, being so small in size, it is rather difficult to bathe the hammies and i assure you, no matter how often you clean their cages and change the beddings, they still reek from one kind of smell. Them being fidgetty when you place them in your hands made the task of bathing them much more challenging. Unlike dogs, you can strap them to the pipe and hold the whipping cane on one hand to deter them from escaping while you bathe them ( my fatty luck sangat takut mandi, dunno why, till ui hafta resort to this "technique" * :P * Unlike scary Fat Luck, Iro likes to bathe, at at times, especially on hot days, will go by himself to sit at the pipe to demand you to give him a bath... My unique, clever, clean Iro... ).

I do think hammies owners should try this bathing sand and let me know how and IF it works * :P * Its really a wonder how creativity, innovation and technology caters to different needs of the human.

Definitely a cute discovery which brought smiles and fuzzy feelings to my lazy afternoon...

Bali-Bali

On a lazy afternoon after returning from Uni, stopped by at Carrefour for a late lunch. I wanted to try this Bali-Bali cafe there and was surprised that the decor incline towards chinese kopitiam instead of the beautiful, exotic Bali Island... wonder why...

I totally dig their iced chocolate drink! It is rather cheap compared as chocolate drinks ( not Milo, please!) usually are priced rather high. This choc drink was not overly sweet and are rich in texture. Yum-yum! And dunno why la, they gave me a complimentary free set of toasts...

My favorite iced choc drink! * hehehe * Their toast were suspiciously similar to OldTownKopitiam's...

I tried their Bali-Bali Nasi Lemak. At a hefty rm8 ( or was it rm8.90? sowwee, forgot liao * :P *) per plate, its a lil mahal la, though it was very well presented. They offer a rather limited menu with little choice of main courses, but as expected, instead of Bali food, they offer more of Malaysian food.

I deliberately took this side view of the platter to let you guys see how they presented the rice to me. Cool hor, in one tall, silinder shape! I must say that this plate of rice was very well presented * hehehe * Though the sambal was so-so. The peanut crackers on the side was crunchy and nice and I like their fried chicken - very crispy on the outside and tender inside.

Not too bad a place to spend a lazy late afternoon with their quiet ambience and clean environment. Got wifi too, so you can cruise the web while sipping a glass of iced choc and pretend that you are in Bali... * :P *

ChatterKotak & Langit Cafe

I know that I have not been posting entries here for the past month. Well, busy with preparation for exams and stuff. Now, I am over with the exam hocus-pocus and can now update my dusty blog * heehee * Hope you guys forgive my absence and continue to read my silly, aimless, emotional rants * howling * wink *

Have a few posts about food in the back log and shall update them asap... * hehehe * Ah... the wonders of food... Thats what this panda clan enjoys to do and does each time we congregate! * muahahaha! *

Went to try out the infamous ChatterKotak. Many gave good comments of this place and of course, mana boleh tak try after hearing all that.

The place was rather crowded, prolly due to the dinner time peak. Waiters were quick to serve. I must say that their prices are quoted a lil higher than competitors of the same concept of restaurants. Their food did not impress me, prolly due to the reason that I went in with expectations and I did not order their specialty dishes kua.

The cheese baked rice with pork chop. I like to eat cheese baked rice and I must say that this one is not to my likings. Yes, they gave ample cheese, but i totally dislike the thick GOOEY tomato sauce poured on top of the rice! * eeeww! * Furthermore, the rice was a lil too "wet" and not very well flavored... A rather small bowl of rice too, if compared to competitors.

However, I do like their milk tea, very well balanced mixture. Not too "kau" like most HK milk tea nor too "milky". Ya-lar, I know I am very cerewet la... * :P * And there are other dishes from across the table which smelled heavenly, maybe should try that next time, but definitely no more cheese baked rice for me there! * :P *

The next place I wanna mention in my blog is this Langit Cafe in ss2. I can say that this place is a rather good hang out place with not so much of a big crowd with comfy seatings, and offers boardgames for customers to lull their time lepak-ing there. Another of those multi-cultural food concept, where they offer HK, Jap, Korean and Local cuisines. Price is alrite. While you are there, it is definitely worth a vicit to their This place is a place for hang out as they offer a huge selection of drinks and snacks, the place to munch, drink and be merry * wink *

The deep fried tofu which i disliked. It tasted totally bland! With no flavorings or whatsoever! neither was it salty nor sweet nor hot - just crunchy.... Please try not to order this when you are there...

My pork rib in special sauce rice. The ribs was well fried, but i do not like the sauce - too "special" to my likings...

Other food and drinks my fellow panda clan had was alrite though C didnt like her drink. SP's Baked Macaroni and cheese was quite nice though... We used her mac and cheese to spread on top of the very bland crispy tofu to make it more edible * heehee * And it really made it tasted better leh... * :P *

Fire Challenge

Fire Challenge is the latest show which caught my attention on tv. A Taiwanese reality show ( or so they call it ) which got my attention. I stay up every weekday at 12am to watch this show. Oh yeah.

This programme is about solving people's problems. Every episode, they will have a couple who has a row and unable to solve their dilemma to present and they serve as the intermediary to help them solve their problems. The show is complete with a panel of juries to help understand and aid their decision making as well as invitation of third, fourth, ALL parties who are involved in that particular problem to come to the show to help clarify any claims.

Its a Chinese custom to not air our dirty laundry in public, and this show not only enable people to air their dirty laundry, but also to bring shame to the whole family too. They even fight during the show - fist fight and slapping one another-leh! Of course, I do not know if it is really a true story or just a media gimmick, but damn! they are damn good!

And at times, i seriously kenot believe how some people can have such complicated problems - even more climatic than TV dramas leh! That show has wave after wave of surprise pile up for the audience! especially when they invite the 3rd/4th parties into the argument and new facts are being discovered or that someone had been caught lying in the face! By the end of the show, they will come up with a conclusion, for them to decide on the choice on how to end the problem and this decision would be final and the solving for their dilemma. Full of drama!

Got one episode, they are analyzing this problem between this married couple, whose husband didnt want to divorce her, mainly cos he owe people a lot of money and expects the very pregnant wife to clear the debts for him. He wants her to pay it off and if she insist wanting to divorce, she will have to pay off the debt for him first before he will agree to sign the papers. WTF? What added to the insult is that he had not been a good hubby, with him having affairs with other women, not working and ill treating his wife. They brought in the woman he was having affairs with and it turned out to be the wife's best friend! And they openly argued and fight to have the very useless hubby. The climax of the show came when they bring in the 4th party, a man who claim to be the father of the child the wife was carrying! * pengsan * muntah darah * WTF? Apparently, the wife also got affair with another jantan, and again, the men fights with one another.

Another episode, was an argument between this lesbian couple, where one doesnt want to break up with the other. The show started with one of them, the one who wanted to break up, accusing her partner for sleeping with a man. The twist of the story was when the accused then throws the ball back by announcing that the accuser influenced and got together with her younger sister. The younger sister was brought in and confessed that she indeed was seeing her sister's girlfriend. The climax came when the father of the girls stormed in, slapped them, and drageed the younger sis, who was below 18 years old, away from the show. If you must know, the lesbian couple broke up in the end.

There are many many more dramatic stories from this show. I memang addicted to this show liao * heehee * Memang dramatic tak terhingga! One will never know what is the next twist! What amazes me is how some people can got the courage to bring their problems to be solve on TV! And the show is being aired throughout the world leh! Everyone, EVERYONE now knows your shameful stories! Who cheated on who, your darkest secrets all out... Still got face to turn up in public ka? * shakes head *

Another thing which amazes me is how people is so defensive and how they just dont see the picture. Some allow themselves to be stomped all over by their partner and yet still acclaim their undying love. Some openly cheats and deliberately hurt you, and you still want to get back together with them. I just dont understand - why hang on to someone who is obviously dont want you? Who obviously use you to the max and spat all over you with not even a shread of compassion?

* sigh * This show just cruelly reminds us that humans are 2-faced and selfish. I feel bleak that people can be so jahat... Why inflict so much pain on others? Especially on those whom you used to love too? Dont you have any conscience? I seriously hope what goes around comes around - so these evil, selfish people get a taste of their own medicine!
