Assignment Blues...

Its that time of the semester where we, the procrastinate-crowd will skip meals, mortgage sleep and brave through rain as well as shine to race toward assignment due dates. Yours truly is guilty as charged * :P *

Of course, it doesnt need to take a genius to know that, especially for group assignments, we will at A-L-L times receives parts of work from fellow group members at the very last minute. I dont really mind, cos I understand how the procrastinators' minds work, but what sizzles me to the point of burning flames is when you are given work-yang-bukan-macam-work.

This semester so far had been the worst for me. I have 2 assignments which suffers from this work-yang-bukan-macam-work disease. One of them, in a group of 4 human minds, 2 of them handed up copy-and-paste work to us. They dont even bother to edit or paraphrase or even change the settings of the font style and color! WTF? And they expect to submit that 'work' ? What even more menyakitkan hati is when even for copy-and-paste, they copy yang tidak berkenaan with the assignment topic!!! Pliargerism is not of their concern, especially when lecturers in my uni dont really impose any actions towards it, hence the dongkois all berleluasa meniru dan menampal for their assignments. It all ended up with poor, hard-workers like us to edit and touchup on their so-called work, which equivalent to not doing anything at all. What to do? We dont want to hand in kerja yang ditiru and ditampal and I want to ensure I get good grades for my assignment. Of course, i wont let them escape without a good scolding * :P * and a highlighted position in the black list.

Another assignment, there is this dongkoi who never seems to do her work. She will act as if she is very responsible, calling, sms-ing and attended all discussions but nothing but a great pretender. She will agree to any work assigned to her, but behind my back, push those works to other group members. She gave lame excuses which all these kind of people loves to use - I tak tau buat-lah... What amazed me was how the people she bullied apparently did it for her! I didnt know until last minute when these " good samaritans" complaint that their goodwill had been over-violated... * WTF? * Arent you suppose to NOT allow yourself being violated in the 1st place? Must wait until OVER ka? * pengsan * muntah darah * What even more extreme is that she is now merajuk and 'angry' at the people she originally bullied for they refuse to do the work for her! And she somemore told me that those people defamed her as she did not do what they claim she did... I tak kisah - as long as you all submit to me the work.

Memang pening kepala dealing with these dongkois. What are the meaning of studying to them? I think, to them, studying is just to pass exams and to graduate, not to LEARN. They doesnt bother if they learn or not, its apparent with such attitude. * sigh... *

And we always hear " Maju-lah bangsa dan negara kita " - I see that the future of us being maju is bleak if these attitudes goes on. Heck, with such people, we prolly wont maju at all and in fact, mundur... * sigh * sigh *

Fresh Flowers Bouquet

My attempt at wrapping fresh flower bouquet! * heehee *

It was actually meant for my aunt, cos she just went through a major surgery lately. My mum announced last minute that she wanna cancel the visit as she is busy for today and the following few days... * :( * So i changed my initial design in mind and came up with a totally different concept and color scheme to present it to my SP-dearest.

I seriously dont know why I like to do crafty stuff. Its damaging to my hands, even more to nails, when I like to keep my nails and paint them color-color * :) * Maybe I enjoy tweaking my creative side, or cos I very "mou-liu" with much time to waste. Some may view this 'hobby' as waste of time and $$$ but somehow, I find it enriching to my soul. Being the perfectionist in me, this activity of being able to make things allows me to input the details exactly as I wanted. Most importantly, it made me feel happy and well, content. Yeah, another silly side of the very gila-PQ...

Bright gerberas (they were actually in orange, but appeared red here) in pink and red color scheme! * hehehe *

Up close view. I like gerberas because they look oh-so-happy! Like sunflowers!

I hope SP likes my modest bouquet leh... Didnt have much materials to work with... I love fresh flowers! I can work with them anytime! Better yet if i can just have them with me all the time!! * hehehe * Must practice more! Who wanna buy flower bouquets can order from me! I give discount! * heehee *

More Flower Arrangements

Apparently those flower arrangements I did wasnt the only ones. My mum wanted me to change A-L-L the plastic flower arrangements * pengsan * Well, just a lil update on more of my "works" as a record * heehee * This time, I hafta squeeze my creativity brain more as I had to make do with the available flowers - reuse wor, since they are still in pretty ok shape. It was one hell.. * erm... * goodness time of challenging my piggie brain * :P *

These, I actually did about 20 or more of them as they are used to gather around the food of the Buddha image. Yup, each pot hafta individually made then arrange at the altar in a row. Hebat anot? All in one afternoon, each individually arranged by my babi hands...

This one is the only one in red - dont ask me why, I tak tau, but I buat only la...

I kinda like the color of the flowers - bright red. It appeals to me because it radiated warmth and joy, do you think so too?

Two of the large pots to flank the Buddha image. Some of the flowers are new but 75% use back the old plants... Nice anot? Hafta go with the lily/lotus theme as that was what the previous one was * :p *

I find myself very happy doing the task... I guess I enjoy doing these kind of stuff... The only con so far, is that all these work is damaging to my hands! Must load up on my handcreams! * :P *

If one day I can be a rich tai-tai, I would certainly be a florist and spend all my time doing all my craft stuff * heehee * Wish me luck ya! * wink *

My 1st Flower Arrangment!

* Yippee-yippee-Ya-Ya!!!*

I managed to complete my 1st flower arrangement which are meant for the public! * heehee * Am feeling proud of me-self! * heehee * Though not exactly amazing, but it was much better than I had imagined... So, must gloat abit and show off to you guys! * :P *

My Mum, a helper in a temple, was assigned to clean and wash their plastic flowers arrangement for the altar, which had been there for 5 years or more. Every year, my mum will be assigned to do it when it is nearing Wesak Day.

My Mum couldnt stand the fact that the arrangement not only had aged oh-so-NOT-gracefully, it is deteriorating as well, with many starting to "wilt" * :) * Feeling that it is damaging for the aesthetic impression of devotees, my mum decided to sponsor a set of new flower arrangements for them( There are actually 2 of them, one each to flank the Buddha's image's sides).

It was rumored than the previous flower arrangements costs about rm1000++ * wtf? * It equals to rm500+ for ONE PLASTIC FLOWERS in ONE PLAIN POT. Apparently some generous devotee ordered it from a florist and donate it to the temple. Really must open a florist's shop, man... But not sure if the rumour is correct anot la har...

My mum 'consulted' me on this matter * :P * and I agreed to help her with this mission. We went flower-hunting at Mydin, which upon my research up till now, sells the cheapest plastic flowers. The cost of the flowers for TWO arrangements costs us only rm110... rm1000++, huh?

This is how the original one looked like ... Doesnt look so scrabby on pic, but upon a closer view, one can see how it is permanently stained grey with dust and the flowers had petals struggling to stay in their stems.

Does this really costs rm500++ each? I seriously dont buy the story leh... Somemore, one can see the quality of the flowers, even when it was brand new, is not of quality - not those nice-nice ones you see in IKEA-type.

This is my new creation! * Ta-daa! * heehee * Cantik anot? I didnt take a very good pic of it cos of time constraint and the lack of angle to shoot this huge arrangement. When placed on the floor, it amounted up to my chest.

I wasnt very keen on the sunflowers but my mum likes it so much, she insists on having them... well, up to her la... They look nicer in reality though... The pics dont do them justice * :P *

This is where we placed them... At the back on each side of the Buddha's image. From afar, they looked like real, fresh flowers * hehehe *

Go la - Go to the temple and see my creation * :p * I know it looks very amateur-ish... But my 1st try at it! * hehehe * My mum said that there are 2 more arrangement to be done for the other altar in the Shrine Hall... I shall keep you all posted on those to when I am done with them! * hehehe * I will ganbate and keep improving to produce the best work! Wish me all the luck ya! * wink *

Italian Food @ ss2

Yeah, yeah... I know I had not been posting much entries with pics in them... Now shall burn all your eyes with them! * :P *

A belated entry - I finally went to try the 'other' Italian place in ss2 which i mentioned earlier. This place, with a more modern decor and bright lightings did not impress me as anticipated - but was not too bad either * wink *

It was rather empty during lunch hour on a weekday. We were presented with a rather ugly menu despite the place's rather nice decor - you know, those menu they put in the pages in those clear folders and withOUT pics?

Moi must have entree - Mushroom Soup! Well, a surprisingly shallow plate for my soup, which tasted oooo-kay saje... Nothing much to imprint any recommendation from moi...

Our "appetizer" which were oh-not-so-appetizing. The Australian rock melon tasted suspiciously like the local honey dew with the slices of meat smelling and tasted like waxed meat, which was a big turn off to me...

WL's plate of sausages - was a lil too salty to my likings but she gave it the thumbs up...

My very disappointing lasagne - I suspect the chef forgot to add salt into mine-lah... And they were a lil too kiam-siap on the cheese... I totally dislike it! * hmphh! *

Their tiramisu closed my feast of the day with a small smile - finally, something i think is not bad... Despite looking discouraging, it tasted quite okay, though not the best I've tasted...

Customer service was rather good, with the restaurant manager flashing big, friendly smiles everytime she approaches our table. Their chef even came out to seek feedback from us, thought it felt a lil intimidating as we were the ONLY customers in their restaurant at that time.

A pleasant place to eat, though I dont really like their food. They do have a very attractive menu, offering dishes that are not so in the norm with similar Italian food places. Price wise, its not cheap, but on par with their competitors - I guess its the market price - go only if you wanna indulge, unless, of course, you are the kind who has the bucks to eat like dat all the time * :P *

Good Samaritan

My 1st sis lost her handbag last Saturday. With it lost equates with the loss of handphone, purse with all her personal identitification cards - the likes.

Obviously she felt devastated as this is the 3rd or 4th time she hafta lodge a police report regarding her lost of her MyKad, and of course, the $$$ needed to replace her handphone and stuff. I guess Lady Luck and Mr Kindness is definitely laughing at her as she encountered the best samaritan I've heard for the past few years.

This man, found her handbag and returned it to her - right to our home's doorstep! And with everything intact! Not even a single ringgit was missing!

Ini memang manusia yang sangat baik. Sampai dia sanggup menghantar beg itu ke rumah tuan punya. Tambahan pula, dia tidak mengharapkan apa-apa ganjaran.

I am absolutely wowed by this fella with his kindness. May him be blessed with lots of good luck and kindness! My sis was so grateful, she is sending him a hamper to his office ( he gave her his name card) as a show of gratitude...

This is one hell of act all of us should observe. I truly understand how it felt for one to lost their belongings and the one who 'found' it dont bother to return it and better yet, pocket it. I know many of whom will pocket whatever they 'found'.

This incident shines a ray of hope to my bleak faith in humans - that there still are kind people out there -despite a minimal amount of them ...

One Year Liao

Oooh... I almost tak percaya!

Its actually been one year since I started to blog! And today is the exact day -
7 April!

What a coincidence! Fate, perhaps...

Kangaroo-Dog

I was finally able to wax my car after a long delay due to either being busy, rainy days or just plain lazy * :P * My neighbour's daughters - 2 cute lil girls usually comes out to play in the porch in the evenings. One of them, the elder one is the talkative and proactive type, and being the her friendly and chatty self, she never fails to greet my family members each time she saw us. At times, I feel a lil suffocated of their presence.

You all know la, I am not very good with kids, and she is the kind who will ask you question after questions till the cows come home, so you can see why I so headache... But I know she mean no harm - she is just being nice and being the eldest in her family, she seek friends to talk and play with her. There was once I played blowing bubbles with her and after that for every day for few months, she never failed to ask me when will I play with her again. Till the extend she even ask my mum if I were at home anot to come out to play with them * pengsan * cute, hor...

So, when i finished polishing my car, I went in to grab a drink before headed out to reverse my car to park outside so that her highness can park her expensive proton wira in the porch. The lil girl started to tell me how she saw this 'kangaroo-dog' and i was like - wtf? She described it to to be jumping on its hind legs like a kangaroo. So I just brushed it off my mind assuming that it was prolly a dog doing some tricks taught by the owner.

I went back in and later, when I went out again to throw rubbish, I sat IT! The Kangaroo-dog!!! Now I finally understand... The dog, a stray, happened to be prowling my street and it has a paralysed front leg, hence the limping aka kangaroo-jump to the lil girls * pengsan * wake up * pengsan again * She didnt tipu me...

To make the incident even more amusing, the dog happened to be brown in color, in the exact same shade like a kangaroo!!! This incident certainly drew a huge smile on my face as it is really amazing a child's mind can be. She managed to relate what she knows to describe to me something so vividly close to the actual truth. And the poor limp, stray dog being upgraded to being a kangaroo in a child's eyes...

She is one hell of a clever girl! * wink *

How To Get A Panda Horny

Sorree for the lack of new posts! * :) * Shall sekaligus give you 2-3 posts! * heehee *

Lately, I find that there are a lot of amusing stories that made * and still making * me smile. Well, that is a very good thing when I am feeling lower than sewage drains... ANYWAY, sometimes, i really find that people can be highly creative when they are desperate.

These people too desperation to a definite higher level.

An article from the newspaper 1-2 weeks ago made me wept tears of both laughter and sadness. There's this zoo in the tom-yum-country which has 2 pandas in their residence. As an attempt to get the pandas to breed, they resorted to making the pandas watch * gasp! * P-O-R-N!!! Panda porn that is... * pengsan * WTF? *

The article even inserted a pic of a caged panda sitting in front of the tele to watch you-know-what. Poor baby... It really amazed me how some people can be so "creative" and thought of such alternative. I guess desperation is the motivation... What lebih memeningkan my kepala is that they even reported that that particular alternative have yet to be successful as the pandas showed no reaction after watching the *err... * videos. * someone kill me please... * Hey, wtf u expect? They are pandas, not you leh!

You think you get horny after watching porn and asume the pandas will too? puh-lease-lah...

I feel sad that the pandas are being forced into doing such things. What more saddening is the act that these pandas were being loaned to the tom-yum-country at this humongous amount of fee every year - macam rent rumah pulak. They are living being too - and to know how they are being treated as a commodity breaks my heart. The pandas should be loved and protected, not to be used to make profit!

*sigh...* I wanna save those pandas from being forced into watching porn! Poor babies... Imagine life being caged the moment you were born till you die is already depressing enough, now, add in the humiliation of being subjected to such treament... God pless bless all the pandas' souls...
