My Convocation 2007

As per SP's request, an entry about my convocation. Well, nothing much about it actually * :) *

Yeah, finally completed another one milestone of my piggie life. It is a lil later than other same age piggies, but at least it is here and be done with * hehehe * Better late than never, right? * LOL *

It was a rather mundane one, especially when all my classmates will only be graduating next year, hence the lost of opportunity to cam-whore * :P * With the sea of people swarming the hall corridor after the ceremony makes any walking a challenge, what more to look for friends to cam-whore with. So it was rush-rush to take a few photos, get all necessary documents and cabut!

In the line awaiting to enter the hall for the ceremony. Check out the swarm of grads!

Btw, I was late, so I shot this pic while my mum adjusting my robe and mortar! * LOL * Right at the minute I am in gear, they usher us in liao! * LOL *

In the hall, waiting for the Chancellor to arrive. Can you spot where am I ? * :P *

I am actually on the front row~

I had to attend an Award Presentation Dinner the night of the Convocation due to me being awarded a special certification. Didnt expect to be honoured, but am happy nevertheless. The dinner was alrite jer, a simple one . Nothinh like those fancy award ceremony.

The banquet hall. A small gathering actually, with VVIP, staff, the award winners, and post-grad people. Yup, the invitation card said check in at 715pm, I reach 730pm, pun jadi tetamu ketiga sampai - see how puntual malaysians are...

Mum insist that i take this pic - books and the graduation hat to symbolize - erm... education? Academic intelligence? Or she thinks I am not clever enough and should study more? * :P *

My certificates. The Blue folder holds my Degree certificate, while the Maroon one holds my Award certificate.

Must take the opportunity to thank Alex here for his congratulatory gifts. Thanks, I lurve the teddy bear! Sweetie of him to send despite me practically screaming down this throat not to do so * :P * Thanks!

Lurve how the teddy arrives with a ribbon pinned on its head! It must be a girl then? * :P * Though Alex insists that it is a HE! * LOL * Red ribbon la - girl la tu! * :P *

My flowers! * hehehe *

A final picture to end my convocation entry - a picture of me with my degree. * wink *

Note : For the complete pictures of my Convo, do visit my Multiply site for the albums. ( Indemnity sentence to avoid SP screaming at me to demand pictures * :P *) Oh, SP, how? You satisfied with my smiles? * :P * I really smile until my cheeks ache that day! * LOL *

Fruit Color

Learned a new word to describe people's skin tone.
As usual, part of the conversation topic during introductions would beabout my "ethnicity". A new encounter hits me today.
I am being described to have skin the color of * gasp! * - KUNING LANGSAT!!!!
O-M-G... * pengsan *

The Famous Donuts in Town

Alright, I have heard and forced to hear people gushing about this infamous donuts. With my own eyes I have witnessed the insanely long queue which not only does it long, the length never go short at any hour of the day. What's with the fad?

Hence, when I saw that the queue was short at the newly opened branch in Pyramid, I thought its my chance then or never to buy it when the queue is short. Well, short by J.Co standards that is. I still hafta be in line for about 25 minutes to get them.

The Cash Cow Donuts Of the moment.

My selection of Donuts.

I do hafta admit that their donuts is very fluffy, but was too sweet for my likings. Yeah, very nice Donuts, and I like the fact that they don't turn hard despite leaving them overnight, unlike BigApple's which did go hard on me * :P *

But what leaves a clear impression in me was not their donuts, but their employee! * LOL * There's this cute guy of theirs who flashed me his megawatt smile, which made me swoon for a moment. He actually looked at me and smiled! * swoon! *

If I am standing there in the heat of the oven serving a never ending throng of customers demanding donuts all day long, I don't think I have the mood to actually look at the customer and flash a huge smile to them. Truly tempted me to change my order to a dozen so I get to interact with him longer * muahahahaha... * Yeah, thumbs up for them to hire a cute guy to sell donuts!

Another Jap Food Entry To Entice SP * :P *

Dunno why I makan so much Jap food in a week * hehehe * Coincidence la... * wink wink * But I was in a Salmon mood, so makan jer la... * :P * Went to the other sushi place opposite of Zen in Pyramid. Not gonna comment much but shall let the pics to entice SP * hehehe *

Salmon sushi! * heehee * The salmon slices here not as thick as Ichiban's... But still of a good thickness * hehehe *

Chawanmushi - a smaller cup compared to most places, but this was really good too. Very smooth...

One of their specialty sushis

Another specialty - avocado and eel...

Soft shell crab sushi - these are pretty good.

Sotong Goreng! * LOL * I like this a lot! Very sedap!!! Must try!

Scallop with Mushrooms - also a good try, Yummy!

And WL's very green noodles! * LOL * Memang the greenest I have ever seen yet! Usually they are of light green in most places, but here - very green! * LOL *

Price-wise, its cheaper than Zen, and the quality of food here is good. A very green decor, which favs WL * :P * Personally, I prefer Zen's as I think the ambience and food is better there. Well, go try for yourself and see which you likes more! They are, after all, just next to each other! * hehehe *

Not So Yummy

Despite my bro trying to avoid his own birthday dinner , we went anyway. Actually he was trying to avoid dinner with my Grandma. As he anticipates a good piece of steak for his birthday and my Grandma forbids him touching beef, she never fails to spoil his dinner. He dreaded that she is around this week and can not escape when my Granny voices out that we should go dinner for his birthday. He actually already plan to go to Tony Roma with me next week AFTER she leaves * LOL * Oh well, no escape.

My 1st sis said that dinner will be at Eden's. ( Well, SHE is - wait, MUST decide where to go wan, cos she will vetoed out any other suggestions other than her own). Mainly because they serve Eastern food there as well so my Granny can have Chinese food.

Turned out to be my disappointment as the food there wasn't good.
Mac and Cheese Bites - yang keras sampai baling kat anjing, anjing boleh pengsan.

Mixed Grill - where the Chef tried to kill me with his ultra spicy black pepper sauce. And the cheese hotdog which tasted as if the machine ran out of cheese when its the turn to make my this piece of sausage. And whats with piling the meat ON TOP of the fries, where the ultra spicy sauce SOAKED all my fries into a soggy pile of black pepper?

And I must take a pic of this to highlight the major importance of ordering an a la carte dessert instead of relying on the dessert that comes together with your set. Both also printed as Banana Split on the menu, but when served - taa daa...! Mine has one banana, while my bro's a la carte has 2, mine has 2 mini scoops of ice cream while his has 3 big scoops and mine missing the fruits toppings. * sigh... *

Hence the set is so value for money, hor? * :P *

Ichiban Oishi

Yeah, the latest attraction in KL - the Pavillion promises a many shopping bliss, especially when you have the dough to shop! * heehee * Yup, everything you need, might need and do not need * :P * wink * wink *

To piggies like my clan, we dove straight into their makan scene (after a laborious shopping trip of course * :P *) and we find ourselves liking this Jap food place there. I do agree that their food is as Ichiban as their title boasts.

My set. Was so-so on my meter because they didnt give me the good part of the eel...

Chawanmushi - oishi!!! Like it a lot! They give generous servings of goodies in it!

And I simply lurve how they generously offer thick slices of salmon! My fav! I hate those like SushiKing who give paper-thin slices of salmon and still charge people rm4 for a plate (or was it rm6?) Here, same price but in the triple size.

See!!! THICK SLICES!!! LOL

And I lurve their Cheese N Ham sushi (the one in the back) - YUMMY! And the other plate is the lobster salad on fried sushi - not bad too...

A must try place! * heehee * Salmon lovers, jom! * wink wink *

Cheese Waffle

Yeah, ditipu again... Went to try this apparently international pancake house yang does not have any international "feel" pun... Price saje international... * :P *

Of course, being a cheese slave, I willing to gain a few pounds just because must eat cheese * :P * so what can I do but not order the cheese waffle on the menu? * kekeke *

See the impressive scoop of ice-cream in the middle? You are so wrong - it's actually butter in the disguise of a scoop of ice-cream! Yup, I pun tertipu at first... * :P * Not as cheesy as anticipated, but got got the cheese flavor there lah... But I lurve their generous serving of maple syrup!

P/S : Paddington's still the BEST! * wink * wink *

Tempted to sign up...

Another marketing gimmick - this spa called me up and told me they wanna give me a free spa treatment. They mentioned it was complimentary from my club's membership, so I thought, what the heck, just go and try it. I can sense that it is another one of those trade skills to lure you up to their place so they can try to sell you their stuff. Since I have time on my hands now, I thought - what the hell, go and have a look.

Boy, I am glad I took it. Really an eye opener. Located on the 4th floor, they have a beautiful swimming pool on the outside. The environment for that spa place is really good - so comfy, SP, you can really doze off! The package is those you pay on monthly installments, where you pay for a certain amount of treatments ranging from facials to pedicures - all up to you how you wanna structure the package for a year.

Oh well, price wise is okay for spa standards... But I am not sure if I should commit myself for a year's package - which the minimum package totals up to rm1000++ per year... hmmnn... Should I? * :P *

By the way, they gave me the foot spa treatment - not bad, they have the foot jacussi for you, while sitting on a massage chair. The water was sweetly scented with heavenly smell, and got one lenglui massage your feet after the rendaman air wangi with scented oils. Nice...

The very nice swimming pool view...

And I really like the environment by the pool - since its a 4th floor terrace, its very windy... Lurve the carefree feeling of breeze on a sunny afternoon...

This fascinates me. Looks like an ordinary glass of flowers right? On a closer look, it is actually FAKE! The water-like substance is actually made of rubber, and the flowers plastic. * LOL *

So tempted to sign up... But must wait till my job settles down before any decisions...

Heaty...

Arghhh...!!! I keep having this mild sorethroat that wont go away! Yes, despite the obscenely huge amount of Vit C, Vit E and many more.

Oh, and this huge black cloud enveloping me - no amount of sugar or cheese can blow it away... * yelp...! * Dont even feel like shopping... O-M-G...

I need cheers! (or booze, maybe? Lots of it?)

Please be strong, my dear boy...

Its my fault. I shouldn't have visited his blog.

I had been sort of forgotten about his blog - it had been months and months or even more since I last visited it. So, what triggered the itchy click on the mouse?

Believe it or not - lately I have recurring dreams about Him. Seriously. Only him, and not the other, jahat one, if you get what I mean. Very weird dreams, at times, feeling eerily real. * SP - they are not those blazing, hot dreams you are jumping into conclusions, okay! * The most recent one was last night, that particular dream gave me a weird feeling of unease. Hence, with free time on my hands, decided to visit his blog.

I shouldn't have. It now left me definite in unease. Found out that he is in a very rough patch now, having his heart broken and all. It breaks my heart to know he is unhappy. Knowing him rather well emotionally - well, as I USED to, and if he is still the same boy I used to know, love and sayang, I am sure he is just one centimetre away from death. Hell he must be in.

I pray that he will be well and happy ASAP. May love, joy and cheer push their way back into him immediately... Though we are not in contact for ages now, I do hope he can get the blessings.

People always wonder and say, you must be not totally over him if you feel this way or that I am still hoping for someting. NO, I can assure you. I do not have a very colourful list of ex-boyfriends on my lovelife and no man had threaten to die because of me (though they might wanna die if they are still with me! * LOL * :P *), but he is one whom I feel I have loved and will love till my dying days or at least, till I have Alzheimers. Oh, maybe its the first love thingy, or maybe because we ended peacefully, or maybe because he is just special. Yeah, one of those who tipu me to bliss * LOL * and I lurve every moment of it, my boy * muahahahahaha! * wink * wink *

Yes, if you can hear me, you are that special someone to me too. Thanks for everything, and for still taking me as your that special someone. * hugsies * Please be strong, all unhappy bleak days will eventually come to an end, its just a matter of staying strong to brave it through. Which I am sure you can.

Unexpected Shopping Spree

* sigh... * I must stay away from shopping malls! * LOL * Feeling free and wanna savor the opportunity to go shopping on a weekday (no need to rub shoulders with the weekend crowd's madness), went with my mum to Pyramid - as my mum haven't been to the new wing so thought of going over for lunch.

Lunch it was, as well as 4 pieces of clothings, eye masks, a few bottle of nail polish and hair clips in the end! * LOL * Sigh... * Always manage to find good bargain when you have no intention to buy! Memang pantang pergi ke shopping mall ni!

Sweet Bow?

Having much free time now during my unemployment period * :P * and having Christmas just around the corner, I decided I should use it to get all my Christmas presents done. Did this elaborate * er.... should I call it a bow? * :P * decorative accesories * :P * SP, cantik anot my penggunaan bahasa? * LOL * hoping to make my presents look more handsome * hehehe * A lil extra touch to make my beloved ones feel more appreciated * or at least, I hope they do *, with the handmade tingy... * hehehe *

This is where I wanna place it.

Bird's eye view

Will it be a lil too "kua-chong" anot ah? Don't care la! * :P *

Re-used Flowers! LOL

I managed to "kutip" a few flower arrangements during my last day at the event in KLCC. * LOL * Its those fresh flowers people send to congratulate their customers or principals. Most of the time, the exhibitors will not bring the flowers home and leave them there to be thrown away, despite the flowers still in good condition.

Tempted to the core, a few colleagues and myself went around scouting for nice ones to take home * :P * Hey, no one wants them wat! * :P * Better than it ended up in the tong sampah before time right? * hehehe *

For those who are in good conditions, I leave them as they were. For those has withered, I pick out the good ones and rearrange them in a new pot... Here is my "work" * wink *

I like these pink lilies! * :) * Such sweet darlings!

Using the pot I got from the C's for birthday present this year...

Pretty!

Vegan Week Completed!

Hooray! Yippee-yippee-ya-ya! I managed to be a vegan for a week! * Heehee... *

Yup, better believe it, i " buka puasa" this noon with fried chicken! * LOL *

A good experience - challenging to be a completely strict vegan as it is hard to avoid dairy products in almost all kinds of food, especially when eating out. Even a trip to the bakery is difficult to avoid cheeses and chocolate and all.

Oh, I can say that I can do it after all! * LOL *

English Teatime!

* A delayed entry *

We actually went for the English High Tea at Delicious! * muahahahaha! * But too bad WL was in Korea at that time... It was not bad, good presentation, we will actually enjoy it a lot if we werent so tamak in the first place...... * :P *

Why tamak? Well, we met up about 230pm there as the tea starts by 3pm... As usual, being on a lazy Sunday where almost every pig like us sleeps late, we only wake up when the time is near out next appointment after Prince Slumber * wink! * :) * What else hits waking up at the hour where everyone either having or had lunch? Hunger!!! Try we had, but can not resist, and ended up ordering some "light" food, which as usual, ended up over-indulging ourselves! * LOL * And we insist (or was it only me? * :P *) to have the English high tea, so you guessed it, we can not even finish half of the food! * LOL * Pigs...

The 3-tier of wonderful food...

The classic Choc Cake which is simply delicious... Warning - please do share it with someone, though it might look like a serving for one, but the ultra chocolatey taste will set you way too satisfied by the time you reach one half

The 2nd tier - scones and strawberries on stick for the choc sauce! Yay! Lurve the big strawberries!

The bottom tier- scrumptious sandwiches and tarts. We hafta "ta-pau" these - memang one more bite and we will have to vomit. The sandwiches which was actually for our tea, ended up as my breakfast for the next day! * LOL * Memang sedap - the orange-line one is actually salmon sandwich - a thick slice of salmon! All good sandwiches - not those egg and tuna kind okay! The round sandwiches even got a bit of caviar leh! * :P * I simply lurve how they make the sandwiches with one side of white bread followed by wholemeal on the other. Yummy!

Yes, I would recommend this for a lazy, late noon tea with your BFFs - a definite pretty and good food to relax and coax each other to chat away... Just dont take a heavy lunch, or even lunch beforehand! * LOL *

Evidence that we had to "ta-pau"! * LOL * I like their doggy bag a lot - very pretty... * heehee * Yes, WL, will go again with you around this time! * wink *

Last Event at KLCC

A delayed entry about my last job at the events company. I cannot resist but must take a picture of this flower arrangement which the management of the convention centre always use for decoration. By the way, all their flower arrangements, regardless big or small are all beautifully created - lurve them!

I really like how they use one single lily as the main attraction of the arrangement, and fill up the sides with pretty pink carnations. What so fantastic about this is that the lily is powerful enough to scent the room with its fragrance - simply lovely!

And I like their glass container! A simple arrangement that looks so elegant... Must go get a glass like that! * heehee *

I was so "lucky" to be part of the steward for the VIP Escourted Tour, where part of the itinerary was to bring them for lunch at a rather posh restaurant at Suria KLCC. The ambience at the restaurant was good, but the food our kiam-siap boss ordered - puhlease, he might as well don't promise people to provide lunch as the menu he chose was oh-so-memalukan.

It is a Thai cuisine restaurant - those posh kind - and as he is very - lets put it in a nicer phrase - "cost conscious", he ordered a shamefully small plate of stir-fried kangkung, a small plate of stir-fried spicy sotong and a small plate of stir-fried beef slices to be shared by 4 person per table. Notice how I keep repeating the word " a small plate"? Well, the serving for each of the dishes were actually for TWO person, and he expect his VIP guests to share those among FOUR person. Oh, I forgot, there was a small bowl of clear tomyum soup for everyone - like that was a big deal.

THATS ALL FOR THE VIPs - VIPS FOR GAWD'S SAKE! There was not even fruits or agar-agar for dessert, and everyone have a poor ONE glass of iced lemon tea, any additional drink to quench the spiciness will have to be sky juice, despite you are a VIP. Memang memalukan - might as well you dont provide lunch liddat - or at least, organize it at a place that can actually fit into your measly budget where your guest gets satisfying lunch instead of being impressed at first with the posh place but walking out of it later with only one third of their tummy filled.

The very posh restaurant - this is their VIP room. Very nicely set in a Siamese concept - I simply like their drapes - so pweeettty....

The view from the VIP room...

And the clear tomyum soup - which disappointed me with its lack of spiciness - but generously filled with squid and prawns.

Oh well, truly an amazing experience working with a kiamsiap boss yg tak pandai bercakap and tak pandai adapt to situations - come on-lah, other stuff you can cut cost, but to provide such shameful menu to your VIP (who are the media people some more!!!), you are just fishing to get your throat cut off. Where to place your muka, ah? And to actually believe that you had been in the events management line for 10 freaking years - I suppose it is not hard to convince myself that pigs can fly...

1st day of Vegan Week

Oh yeah, I survived the 1st day of being vegan * LOL * 6 more days to go... * heehee *

Not that hard to abstain meat, but its the checking out all labels to ensure it does not contain any animal products that is tasking. Oh well, a promise to keep, and I wanna try being a vegan for a week, see how I can resist meat * :P *

No, don't try tempt me with my favorite meat dishes, I will howl and wail, but will not relent! * wink! *

I got the job! * woohoo! * Now waiting for the offer letter - apparently the management must finalise and approve the terms and conditions before giving me the offer letter. Oh well, at least I know I am 75-80% employed by now * :P * and 100% free from the need to go hunting.

Hereby, I would like to take the opportunity to thank every single one of you who had given me your blessings and well wishes upon me getting this job. Really appreciate it, filled me with a glow of warmth that means so much to me, getting the job is a bonus on top of all the love I get from you all. I send my deepest gratitude to each and everyone of you, may you all be happy, well, loved and successful in every aspect of life! * hugsies! *

Chili Pan Mee

The first time the term "Chili Pan Mee" hit my virgin ears * :P * was complimentary from C. Apparently there is this very famous shop selling a very unique Chili Pan Mee right in the city where I was born. Hard to believe at first, but as a hot * spicy food lover, it interests me to rape ... er... I meant - ravage it * :P * as I also am an avid fan of Pan Mee.

Therefore, I jumped at the opportunity that hit my way when my manager (now ex * :P *) casually invited me for a Chili Pan Mee lunch on a lazy Saturday. A rather dirty and dingy place, but crowded, complete with the ever "laann see" owners - memang sah this is the place of the most talked about Chili Pan Mee.

This is how it looked - must order the dry Chili Pan Mee - its the one people talkking about. Actually, its the "kon lou" Pan Mee, the speciality is their chili where you input at your own discretion. * The white tingy is telur goreng *

Then, Mix Mix Mix and voila, its the Chili Pan Mee you have been anticipating... I must admit that it is unique, not only the taste of the chili added, but the mee as well. I rarely * can say never had been-lah * ate Pan Mee that are made into circular shape - that of spaghetti. Bukan itu shape yang menakjubkan, its the texture. Memang fit the description of pejal, kenyal, tegang dan bermutu * LOLOLOLOL * I like the texture a lot.

Tak cukup with the "laan see" owner, they have scribblings on their wall in rhymes praising their proud product... * :P *

I do say, go try it out - an experience worth gaining. A definite unique taste. Though to me, it is not the sedap-till-beh-tahan, but I like it * hehehehe *

The following picture was taken because I was impressed by the Pan Mee seller at AsiaCafe - he definitely love his work - my bowl of Pan Mee was cooked with passion...

Memang my first experince makan Pan Mee at a hawker stall where they present to me a one which was so well decorated! * LOL * Note how he arrange the fishcake slices and the mushroom slices... * swoon * What a passionate man.... * wink * LOL *
