The Toxic Show

This is an update about the event which is so toxic, it broke my 8 months record of being healthy, to crawling into Dr. Tan's clinic... * sigh... * I officially claims that I am made of water, a single drop less from my normal consumption will send me to sick-land.

This is also to give a glimpse into what I am doing to earn some dough - a small piece - that is. This is what all my hardwork will go to - all the months for a 3-day show. But this is not the project I am working on, mine is scheduled on next year.

A pic I took when boss not around during the build up. Its my first time of actually being in KL Convention Centre, overlooking the contractors building what must be torn apart in a matter of 3 days. No, no hot-bod contractors sweating away shirt-less, to my disappointment * :P *

In conjunction with the theme of this show, as well as courtesy of the Embassy of Netherland, there are a few of such cow figurines lining the walkway of the convention centre. I like cows, and I think this one is especially cure, with its christmas hat and curly eyelashes! * heehee *

This one I dedicate to my Daughter, WL, for I know she adores TULIPS! How about this - tulips on a cow? * :P *

This nice view taken from the 3rd floor of the convention centre, in between waiting for the opening ceremony. The view there is seriously amazing, transporting me to believe for a minute we are a ultra-modern nation * :P *

I can not resist but to take a pic of this fabulous plate of breakfast I had. As employees are given rooms to stay in nearby hotels (to ensure we wont turn up late for the event * :P *) , the one I stayed for one night ( I went home for the rest) offered complimentary buffet breakfast. A very nice buffet breakfast despite the dingy and cockroach laden room. I was piling up my plate in auto-pilot mode due to the sleepless night and the rush to get to the convention centre in another 25 minutes, I came to a surprise to see that the food were nicely displayed on my plate when I came to the table. * LOL * Yummy! * wink *

Down with flu...

The show is over today, after all the mad rush. Oh well, thats all events management is about - chaos * :) *

As the contractors are tearing down the hall, I am also being torn down - with flu. My throat is killing me, body temperature slightly warmer than usual despite shivering from cold, got an infection, watery nose and sneezing away * :( * sighz * All of these on top of my pair of sore feet...
Must be the lack of water and the deadly, unhealthy meals supplied to us throughout the last 4 days...

Desperately wanting to get an MC before the clinic closes tonight, but dont think I can - because I have an important business dinner tomorrow's night * arghhhh....! * cough... * cough... *

Damnit, really die-die also kenot take MC!!! See-la, my first experience of work-till-sick-also-kenot * blehks *

Abusive BFs

I dont get it, I dont get it, I dont get it.

What is the biggest relationship pet-peeve of yours?

Being in a relationship, of course, is not lovey-dovey, all smooth sailing. Yeah, I get that. Many people stays in a sour relationship, reluctant to let go, yes, I do understand - it all goes down to the basic human nature of either selfishness ( to reap some sort of benefits) or simply due to the fear of being single / alone. I have witnessed a many who will ditch the existing partner faster than a hot coal when a new target appears, despite hanging onto the "pelampung" all he meantime, forcing themselves to believe that they still love their partner * walaupun memang sudah tidak tapi tak nak mengaku, apabila target baru menjelang, apa lagi, terus tak cinta itu pelampung ler... *

Anyway, that is not the topic I wish to highlight today.

Of late, I seem to hear a too many people, being involved in relationships with abusive man. Yup, you heard me right.

Abusive as not in emotionally but PHYSICALLY. I have not only hear stories from others, but have immediate friends who actually suffered in such condition themselves.

Why? Why? Why? I just can not understand.

If I caught my man in bed with another woman, and he can give me a good enough reason * and tipu-tipu me until i believe him * :P * , I might still can give him another go. But if he ever lift a hand on me, G-O-O-D-B-Y-E and see you in the Police Station. It will be me suing you for violence or you suing me for attempt of murder * :P *

I seriously can just NOT understand. How can you tolerate your boyfriend who hits you? Leaves you in bruises ( and prolly blood too). I totally do not believe in love-you-that's-why-i-hit-you. F$%# the crap to someone else okay! How about ME who love-you-that's-why-I-hit-YOU? How about that? DO you feel MY love now?

Increasingly, more and more guys seems to be hyper protective of their gf. Excuse me, not those protect-her-from-danger kinda protective, but protect-her-from-other-male kinda perception.

I have even heard "kua-cheong" stories like the BF forbid GF from MSN Messenger, fearing she would chat with guys, forcing the GF to change her mobile number and the only man who can have access to that number is himself and her male family members. WTF?

What now? It surprises me to my toe that MAN actually feels so INSECURE about THEMSELVES nowadays. And that GF is not even a HOT CHICK, for gawd's sake! What? I thought it should be the FEMALES who worries that their man chases after another skirt. Apparently Dicks are much more worried of their PUSSYCAT meowing another man's pants than the other way round.

Being paranoid might be something every human ( man or woman) can not escape. But exerting force? Puh-lease! And what shocked me further is that WOMAN actually tolerates that! WTF? And the ultimate surprise, these are EDUCATED women, holding degrees and have good jobs, succumbing to abusive men? * pengsan *

What can be worst than a man leave you in bruises? AND HE IS NOT EVEN YOUR HUSBAND YET. What can happen eventually when you are his wife? Losing a limb or the occasional head concussion?

Puh-lease... Get away from these men. They do not love you the way they claim they do. Will they come to their heart to inflict pain on someone they love dearly, whom are precious to them? He can even yowl if his new watch receives scratches but he can stand to see you in pain and tears? I seriously dont buy that.

If my man lifted even a finger on me, be prepared to battle, my dear. I will not walk away from the scene of crime in tears, I will fight to my death to make sure both of us crawl out in trauma. I will not allow HIM to get away inflicting pain on me, I will ENSURE he suffers a bloodshed. I mean it, I am not joking, I will fight back all my might. I can not bear being hit, I MUST MAKE HIM IN PAIN TOO. If I go down, YOU go down with me.

Even my parents wouldnt inflict pain onto me, what does a man, who not even have any LEGAL claim on me, could do that. Hence, I just can not understand, why these woman, still be in a relationship where their BF hits them.

Yeah, they will apologise all their might, make up all they can do, but does that guarantees that he wouldnt do it again? And in many of the cases, the BF hits them repeatedly AND doesnt even treat them very nicely during the times he isnt hitting her.

So what now? What more reasons to hang onto this man?

Please, I pray to God that may him release these woman from such sufferings...

Believe me, all the woman out there, you just can NOT change a person, what more a MALE, despite how hard you try or how much you want to.

Be brave and walk away, dear, happiness is just around the corner once you step away from his hell...

Yummy TomYum

* A delayed post *

Had this impressive platter for breakfast one Sunday morning - a quick bite b4 the movie starts - and was trapped in the lure promise of a big breakfast, but came disappointed that it did not taste good, though a big brekkie.

Scrambled egg, hash browns, sausages, toasts and bacon-yg-more-ham-like.

But I was thoroughly satisfied with my bowl of TomYum noodles during my late lunch. It was a big bowl, with lotsa seafood in it. The soup was thick and spicy, fragrant with coconut milk. Lurve it! Will definitely revisit! * wink *

More Lollies - Sample

Apparently my bro circulated pics of the lollies bouquet I made for C to some of his friends, and they too want it! * LOL *

Being pestered by his friends, with some intending to purchase, he requested me to make a small bouquet as a sample * and he also wanna present it to someone ler... * :P *

So here it is - a petite one, which I find rather cute! I think this is good to sell to students - who are more cost conscious - as this petite bouquet has all the elements, but in a smaller package, not OTT, just plainly sweet... * wink * wink *

Bird's eye view

Side view - to note the ribbons * :P * Yes, if you dont know already, I am obsessed with ribbons and bows! Most of my stuff some or other has bows and ribbons elements in them! * heehee *

This is the view I like most * hehehe * Looks like a flower, hor?

SP, you hafta be back in Malaysia if you mau * :P *

Also made these for my Sweetie C's birthday. Something to sweeten the already very sweet girl

Lollipops Bouquet! * heehee *

Ribbons

Deliberately chose a rainbow-coloured paper as packaging - as I though it is a cheery, candy bouquet, should have a happy colour to enhance it. * heehee *

How? Pass anot? * :P *

Birthday 2007 - Part 2, Post No.9

Hereby, I must extend my thanks to every single one of you who made my Birthday 2007 a fantastic one.

Not only I was showered with a lot of attention, it's the love that overwhems me. I keep reminding myself how blessed I am to be surrounded by people who really cares and loves me, despite many not by my side physically, your love envelopes me like you are really right here.

Some people say, that being single on your 24th birthday is a sign that you must do something about yourself and start changing to ahem.. get tied up soon. For me, I do not see being single at this age as a sign of failure, life is not all about being in a relationship with the opposite sex ( or same sex for some special cases).

People fail to see beyond what they perceive. What if one CHOOSES to be single at this point of life? Or that maybe one is recovering, trying to live life without the entanglements of the other half? Or simply , not finding someone worthy of the investment yet?

What most people fail to enjoy, is the love and fulfilment that lovers cannot bring. Yes, sex+romance sells, but how about the other finer, fragile things in life? Such as the precious love only true friends can deliver?

I am grateful that I am being surrounded with so much love. I lurve all of you as much! * hugsies! *

Thanks for the gifts ;
The thoughtful gifts...

For Dolling me up

And the well wishes all the way across the seas...

THANKS THANK THANKS! From the deepest of my very tiny heart! * :P * Lurve ya all! * hugsies! * May you all be happy, loved and healthy always!

My 201th Post!

Wah! Memang tak sangka its my 201th post!

As tradition, I will change my blog template every decade of posts! * :P *

Hope you guys like it!

A belated celebration with my bro, we decided to have BBQ at home, due to the long Raya weekend, and also partly cos we hafta house-sit as my parents went to HongKong. It was a good day for BBQ as it was raining, and the weather was so cool, we can barbeque with ease * heehee *

Birthday 2007 - Part2, Post No.7

4th day into the celebration - dont worry, its the last ler * :p * Decided to go pampering with Pammie, so we went to Bangsar for Manicure + Pedicure! * heehee *

Wanted to try out the well-talked-about ColourCulture, but apparently they were fully booked, so we scouted * very desperately * for another nail parlour. Finally tumbled upon one with good ambience, dove right in! * :P *

Here it is!

My shocking blue toes! * :P *

My pink, subdued nails so that my boss wont send me home * :P *

The ambience there was really comfy and nice, served us tea, gave us magazines to read ( but who the heck wanna read EconomyToday at a nail parlour? Definitely not ME!!! ) * :P *

Sadly, their handiwork wasnt that good... Oh well, it was the process we seeked, so considered a job done! * heehee *

Birthday 2007 - Part 2, Post No.6

I FINALLY GOT MY SUNFLOWERS!
* yippee-yippee-ya-ya! *

Among my clan, you guys know how much I pester CH for him not keeping his promise of giving me sunflowers since like 2-3 birthdays ago. It started by his one innocent question, asking me what I would like for my birthday and I answered - sunflower - well, i only requested a single stalk from him at that time.

He claimed that he DID actually bought it, but was carelessly left on the bus he boarded. That reason was * and still is * :P * so not being accepted by me. But I understands - its his intention that counts, I knew he really tried. Jahat-me cant help it but teases him about it whenever I could, cos he looks so cute trying to deny me, and finally this year, he decided to shut my mouth off * LOL *

My sunflowers! * heehee * and he actually went to Petaling Street to get them for me - all the while using public transport! Such a sweetie! * hugs! *

Thanks, CH! Yes, I will not tease you about it anymore la! * LOL *

Birthday 2007 - Part2, Post No.5

I must post this to amuse SP, as I myself find it important to post it up, to remind myself not to be carelessly caught by beautiful things so easily anymore * :P *

As I had to work half day the Saturday I had dinner with C & CH, and I spent the night out late with B-dee-dee, I went to work with my cigarette-smoke laced, all frizzy and * ughh!!! * a mess of what supposed to be hair, all tied up, and praying hard people not notice my horrible hair. Thus, I vow to go wash my hair before meeting up with my clan, after I shopped for some birthday presents at Sg Wang and TimesSquare.

While at TimesSquare, a place abundant with hair salons, I initially decided to walk around, checking out some salons, before deciding which one to aboard.

At the FIRST salon I came across, I was checking out the price list at the door, suddenly, a VERY CUTE boy came out and asked me what he can do for me. He was SO CUTE - with BIG EYES!!! And since he works in this kinda place, he sports a funky hairdo, and dresses very upbeat kinda boy. He was so good-looking, I was kept spellbound - and I mean it literally!

The next moment I came to consciousness, I was sitting IN the salon, getting my hair washed! * LOL * And I was supposed to look around first before deciding!

Seriously, I dunno and still do not know, what made me not thinkingly followed him into the salon!!! O-M-G!!!

Sadly, his appointment arrived shortly after, and another not-as-cute guy took over.... * :( *

See, it is crucial to hire handsome and pretty people to stand at the front of your business to LURE customers in. I know I got baited.

* :P * wink* wink * See, I am easily kena-tipu by beautiful things * wink * ngek ngek ngek *

Birthday 2007 - Part2, Post No.4

Ala... Sabar la, SP - you said TEN POSTS BY MONDAY wat... * :P * Its still Monday here, at least, by Malaysian time! * LOL * wink * wink* I sure will keep my promise wan - die-die must keep my face! * LOL *

Okay, the 3rd day into my celebration * heehee * Yup, I am so lucky this year! *, went for dinner with my SJAM comrades - CH & C, as well as her hubby and PG. We were more into getting good booze that night, so C suggested this cool place called Palate Pallete, located hidden along the Golden Triangle of KL. Like the place a lot, definitely a place to go if you wanna have good drinks.

An added touch to make my evening a much more memorable one, I had a professional photographer that night * LOL * PG have a brand new, ultra sophisticated camera, kind him became our official photographer that night * smiles * Yup, very nice pictures taken, even ugly piggie like me looks presentable! Ah... the wonders of technology that can delude reality for a moment! * LOL *

C tried to get me drunk but to no avail that night. She ordered a special drink for me - such a cute gal - but it was a lil mellow for me * :P *. Sorry SP, for disappointing you, but there was indeed booze involved wor... * wink * No worries, C, you can try to get me drunk this new year celebration! * heehee *

Had a tremendously pleasant and happy night, chatting and laughing away with fantastic companies. A good place to people watch as well, C and I caught a few eyefuls! * wink * wink * I was also surprised by a very loud, warm birthday song by the restaurant's crew * ahem... and my lengchai wished me a good birthday! * LOL * followed by this really cute cake - STRAWBERRY CALIFORNIA ROLL CAKE!!! It was so cute, having chocolate wrap to substitute the seaweed, with strawberries as the filling, whipped cream as the sushi rice! A very delicious cake, and in my favourite flavor - strawberry! Thanks, PG!

I like this pic a lot - one that makes me look civil enough to be posted up! * LOL * Thanks a lot! * hugsies *

Birthday 2007 - Part 2, Post No.3

Okie, post no.3 for SP! * :P * Sorry la, I hafta post TEN entries to keep my promise to SP, or else I will not be able to bersombong in front of her that I always keep my promises! * :P * hehehehe * For those who tak boleh tahan, just tune into this site 2 weeks later! * wink! *

2nd day into my celebration frenzy, went out for ice-cream and dinner with my Uni frens. Did not take much pictures for SP to peruse, but must post at least ONE picture as evidence, right? * heehee *

They are the nicest people I met during my short stay in Uni, though I spent only one semester with them, they remained as the closest as I can get compared with any other Uni mates. They are the ones I can actually feel comfortable and at ease, able to enjoy their company.

Had a wonderful time talking and laughing, catching up with each other's life apart. I can really say that fate is a wonderful thing - it determines who you can and can not be in contact with, hence when it leads us to some people who makes you feel good to be with, enjoy and appreciate it all one can before its time for fate to whisk them off away.

Here is my Brian-dee-dee, we were at Haagen Daz, catching dessert before dinner * hehehe * Am still waiting for the pics with the other friend... Also fro SP, I think you wanna know how Brian-dee-dee looks like, rite? * :P *

Birthday 2007 - Part 2, Post No.2

My first time able to celebrate with my Daughter on the actual day of my birthday! We went to makan Jap food for dinner celebration at Pyramid. Wah, memang sedap! Like it a lot! Will definitely revisit!

I like the ambience there a lot. A cool modern contemporary look for a Jap food place. A nice place to hang out with good companies, enjoying good food in cozy environment. It is not too pricey, standard charges like many other Jap food place.

This set at rm55 - really like the eel, it came long with tempura and sashimi - all the food I like on one platter! * hehehe *

These sushi came along with the set above! Memang value for money - a big serving for one person!

Yummy Sushis and sashimis! Added these on top of the set for sharing! Memang One set + these a la carte is more than enough for 2 person!

Thanks for the dinner, my dear daughter! Enjoyed it a lot! What most important is the company along with the food and for you to care so much to celebrate my birthday, that is what money can not buy * wink! * hugsies! *

My Golden Piggy!

Hitting my 24th birthday means a deal to me. Hey, this marks another milestone in my life - being TWO DOZEN years old! * LOL * Yeah, I admit that I am old, but who but no one ages no matter how they try to conceal? Might as well embrace it with a fun-loving heart! * wink *

I got a head start to this year's bash by receiving a PINK package from my Da-Da ;

Pink Bag with Pink Ribbon?

Voila! A Golden Piggie Pendant! Yay!

That's not all, tug at the top, and out comes a golden coin! It is a piggie bank as well! * LOL * Cute!

Am so happy to receive this as I have always wanted a golden piggy pendant. I was very touched to receive this heartwarming gift. Maybe my da-da indirectly hinting that I should save more money! * :P *

To many people, this might not be an expensive gift nor it being any more special to them. To me, it hides a whole new truth.

My Da-da is the typical, traditional Chinese father, who doesnt cuddles nor kisses his children. He barely kid around with us, what more to joke or two with us children. The kind who loves you implicitly, shying away from emotion in front of his family. A true Chinese family man.

Hence, his every action means a lot to me, as it is always casual, but actually carries a whole load of meanings and love that people easily cant read them. Why this lil gift touches my heart deeply is not that harga emas mahal sekarang, but the thought and effort that goes with it.

I mentioned ONCE, back a few years ago, that I would like to have a golden piggie pendant ( to my disappointment that i received a star for my 21st birthday instead), he kept that comment by heart. Apparently, he went around seeking for one he thinks is best to present for me, without fail each time he come across a goldsmith. And his critical eye will not rest until he found one he thinks is good enough.

You see, its the effort I cherish deeply. My one comment, one brief comment, he actually takes it to heart to realise it, despite it is just a silly, not important one.

Many people dont understand, why something small like this triggers so many emotions in me - they thinks that getting what they want is what makes them very "haang fook" having a "fun" and "sporting" dad is the coolest.

To me, it is much more than that. It is the message that comes with his every action, that are so deeply heartfelt and painstakingly well thought to love you, is what rocks my boat.

A good start for my 24th birthday. Hope that my da-da knows that I lurve him muchie as well!

My 1st Post-Graduate Salary

* 01 October 2007 *

FINALLY I receive my pay cheque.

Yup, my FIRST salary of my first permanent job – though I might not be staying here permanently * :P *

Happy abit cos got some extra money this month – cos there is the added amount of on-site allowance from the recent Merdeka event, and the last week of August where I started working.

Almost can not believe it again that I am finally earning money on my own. Though I don’t have to support family or pets, I still can feel the responsibilities piling on.

Ah…well… Adulthood… * wink *

New Addition into the Chen Family

My 2nd Sis got a bitch! * :P *

She was walking her dog when got waved by the caretaker of the kindergarten near her home. Curiously, she ventured closer, rupa-rupanya that lady asked if that dirty mess of a fur ball belongs to her. An abandoned pup found at the longkang behind that kindergarten. Feeling sorry for the pup who was in the verge of dying from cold( she was drenched in rain, and maybe longkang water), she took her home, gave it a good bath and haircut ( she is of mixed breed, small kind with long, fuzzy fur) to trim away those dirty fur around the face.

A quick visit to the doctor confirmed that the dog is already 4 human-years-old,free from diseases and have been given birth to pups at least 2 times. After scouring the area for lost dog ads and trying to look for the owner, there seemed no one is looking for her. And my sister took a liking to the dog, she decided to keep it until anyone claims it.

Numerous names were thrown at the dog, hoping to by chance she will respond, and guess which name she actually responded to? L-U-C-K-Y!!! * OMG! * pengsan * Here, I shall call her as Luckie to differentiate her from my Fat-Luck * heehee *

Everyone in my family likes her, she is gentle and very obedient. My Mum and 1st Sis insists that Luckie looks like our late Iro, which from the fur-type perspective, yes. Here is the pic! It is hard to take a good pic as she is always running around or lying on its back. Welcome!

Luckie : Am I pretty? * blush *
