Jack's tempat

Another makan post... heehee... yeah, thats what me and my cheemuis like to do - shop and eat and yak yak yak! Muahahahar! Bliss!

This new slaughterhouse we went to is the newly opened Jack's tempat, Sunway Pyramid outlet. Comfy settings, and suprisingly rather deserted on a Sunday noon. Prolly due to the location... Anyways, they do have attentive waitresses. What I had ;

Lobster bisque soup - was mildly disappointed that it didnt meet up to my expectations. Howver, there were some pieces of lobster meat in the soup...

My maincourse - sirloin steak, medium-well done. It were rather alrite - the sauce wasnt oustanding. It did not manage to imprint any impression on me :P

My cheemui had teriyaki chicken - which was SALTY. First time in BOTH our pig lives we ever tasted SALTY teriyaki sauce! I tried my best to convince us that the chef prolly mistaken the salt jar for sugar :P She also complained that the peas served along it were overcooked, where the fries served along mine were overfried... :(

The only dish which appleased us a little is the mango prawns salad...

Which wasnt a total proud praise - as the mango flesh served was only HALF of that mango, and they are experts in choosing SMALL sized mangoes... BUT, it tasted good...

Well, this is one place I dont think I am satisfied with their food. However, they do offer a huge variety of tempting servings. Their quiet settings allow patrons to have pleasant conversations with friends or clients.

This time, I shall rate this place a 3.5 /10 for their food, 5.5 /10 for ambience and 7 /10 for their cuatomer services.

Korean BBQ, Taipan

After the long anticipation, finally, FINALLY get to 'serbu' and 'takhluk' ( well, maybe 'ditakluki' is a better word since we hafta pay for the meal... :P) The shop is located on one of the new buildings in Taipan - faham-faham la... hehehe... On the 2nd floor.

Once we enter the shop, we were quickly escorted into a vacant table. You can choose to sit either in booths, tables or those pseudo-sit-on-the floormat tables. My sexy-legs' cheemui was wearing a short skirt and requested for a booth seat :P

They serve not only Korean BBQ, but also some ready-cooked Korean dishes like bul-go-gi, soops, bim=bim-bap, Korean pancake - the likes. Since its not those buffet kind of BBQ, we had to choose the 'raw' dishes ourselves. Their menu was very patron-friendly as they inserted generously large pictures previewing their servings.

We started off being served with appetisers - included for all patrons wan... The soup was trully appetizing - chinese cabbage stewed in a unique soup, and fresh, finely shredded cabbage dressed in similar-tasting sauce like the soup.

Shortly after, we were bombarded with these tiny servings of Korean side dishes - also included for all patrons. All uniquely pleasant - of course, who can miss the ever popular kimchi?

And their standout quality - they use charcoals for their BBQ instead of those hot plates!

And our order of beef on grill! Muahahahar! The most disappointing part is that we werent involved in the grilling session as the waiters will do the job for you :( boh-syiok leh... And they included halved pips of garlic for fragrance - turned out that those garlics were yummy as well - sweet tasting...

We also ordered their Kimchi-Jiggae soup. Thick broth with generous helpings of kimchi, but lack of other stuff like tofu, meat and glass noodles.

Overall, the food there is good. Free-flow of Tea is served. However, the servings for the beef is rather small. Price wise - not exactly economical - though am alrite for those who like to share meals like me n my chee muis, especially when those many plates of side dishes and appetizers. When you call for the bill, they serve you 'pencuci mulut' of a slice of watermelon each :P

What we dont like aboout this place was their waiters who seems to be very diligent that they cant wait to clear your plates. It seems as if they wanna rush you through your meal. Though the ambience is alright, but it was rather noisy as other patrons too seemed to be very excited and chattered rather loudly.

Overall, I would rate their pricing a 5 / 10 , food 6 / 10 and ambience 5 / 10. Service 4.5 / 10.

Their beef sure draws me back for a second helping though! :)

Anjing Muslim

Fatty Lucky tried on a head scarf... In protest that we doesnt feed him pork :P

Fat Luck : What? Don't I look demure and pretty?
Let you all guess - Bunga apa ni?

Heehee... Cantik anot? On a gloomy morning which threatened to rain, ( tapi tak hujan-hujan pun...) on my way out with me in a drowsy mood having to wake up early for exam and not enough tidur - this caught my attention. I was just so fascinated by it that I must take pictures of it :)

Taadaa...! Its a flower bloomed from a cactus plant! Yup, can you spot the cactus behind the flower? Hehehe... It was soooo beauuuuteeefuuuul! Of course not I tanam wan le - you all know how impatient I am wan... My gila sis punya kerja...

What makes this flower so unique is that it hardly blooms and when it finally did - the flower only opens for ONE day then withers. Ya - you must bela your cactus till old-old baru dia akan berbunga :P

Oh yeah, SP, I managed to catch the flower in its' glory! Muahahahahar!

My first business!

I am so proud to present my 2nd attempt at this bear-bouquet tingy, and what makes it worth the entry here is that - ITS MY FIRST PAID CRAFT WORK !!!!!!

Am so excited la... I've never been paid before for my crafts as I usually make stuff as gifts for my close friends. This time, it took me even less time to complete one as I sort of know how to make liao... heeheehee... And I've gotten so addicted to this new hobby! Can open shop - who wants to invest? :P

So, nice anot? Anyone wanna order from me? I charge cheap-cheap one :P

Clueless Me

Time sure waits for no man - its goin to be August of 2006 liao. Until W@i mentioned it, I too seemed not to be so aware that 2007 is juat 5 months away from ending * sigh*

Its time to start to finalise my major * arghhhh! * This is a very important decision of my life and I'm * gasp * CLUELESS! OMG... Yeah, my degree a bit weird one, Bachelor in Management with a major of our own choice. When I thought its just a studies of management, boy, I was so wrong... I'm soooooo in dilemma now...

Help me. What would you people choose?

  1. Knowledge management
  2. Quality management
  3. Management Science
  4. Leadership
  5. Entrepreneurship

At times, I wonder - Am I in the wrong field? W@i always wonder what happened which deviated me away from the science & medical field. She also thinks I should take Law. ( No, darling, I dont think I have what it takes to be in Law) Close friends thinks that I should have ventured into the creative field. SP thinks I should be in Journalism for my overactive, exaggerate imaginations and my passion to write ( yeah, cos i read so BYK *ahem* books ma... know-lah :P) But most mainly thinks I'm alright in Management since I'm bossy and due to my past experiences in SJAM.

Then again, what do I think? Hey, I should know myself best, right? No, I truly dont, actually.

I guess I've changed so much over the years, I lost touch with my inner self. I dont even know what I want anymore.

One of SP's advice which I held strongly - When you do not know or are not sure of something, you are actually heading the right way. I hope with all my life that its true...

Small achievement, Big satisfaction

* WARNING : A kembang post *

Tadaa!!! I present to you all my latest creation (more likely, my attempt :P) * Eh, bagi muka sikit, berilah sedikit tepukan, sungguhpun tak gemuruh! :P *

Cindy so going to scream and breathe down my neck for this - she wants one like this since long ago, and I sort of promised to make her one - just that till today belum buat! Heehee... Sorry, dear, will make one for you asap k! *muaks*

So, apa macam, can pass anot my hasil kerja? :)

Well, let makcik ini bercerita sikit... My bro wanted to 'kau lui' with this kinda thing - apparently teen chicks are hot over these at the moment. We went about looking at shops where they offer such 'product' and was astounded to find that they costs rm100+. Even a simple ONE softtoy only bouquet costs bout rm20-rm60, varying according to the size and the packaging. PLUS, the softtoys they use are those cheap-looking, imitations one can buy cheaper at pasar malams.

Hence, being the kakak yg baik, I told my bro that I can help him to make the bouquet with the charge of one Pi-Chan softtoy for my service * heehee* With my perfectionist eye for plushies, and my bro's careful scrutinizing, after 3 hours of dragging my feet about OneU, finally, FINALLY, were able to choose these bears and the materials for the bouquet.

And, this, my friends, are my hard work. Believe me, it costs only 65% from the retail price, AND we use QUALITY and ORIGINAL materials :P Imagine-lah, we purchase the bears and materials at RETAIL PRICE oso can save so much, imagine how gila kaya those retail shops' owner who sell such bouquets at their price.

So, guys, if you plan to impress your lady with similar gifts, consider handling the task to me la... I untung u abit, you save some dough, a bargain rite? :P Its a great substitute for fresh flowers as it doesnt withers, looks aeons more classy than plastic flowers. those chocolate bouquets will either melt or add inches to her thighs - consider this! Lasting, cute, special and definitely looks more expensive! hehehe...

How? Do you people think that it passes? It was my first attempt. Am happy that it didnt turn out to be a disaster or my bro will kill me... hehe... Am feeling rather proud of myself too... Muahahar!

To end this post, I added a pic I've taken from the accomplishment of the task with some of my other plushies hogging the cam to pose with the bouquet! :)

P/S : The small black piggy (Pi-Chan) was my 'habuan' for this project * wink *

P/S : B4 SP jump into conclusions, NO, those werent wet dreams, though I am hoping to see some fabulous fit half-naked men in them * still hoping*wink* :P

William's Corner

Another Friday night spent eating... *ngek*ngek* C and I were by PG introduced to this makan place in PJ - near the old LimKokSayap Campus - SS berapa I tak ingat la :P

Seriously darlings, this place offers practically everything!!! From western to mamak food to Malay cuisines. And there is another chinese stall park right next. We were astounded by the varieties they offer!!! The disappointing part is that they doesnt have a menu :( I mean, with so many to offer, no menu? We were so lost... Quick glances to other tables to get an idea of what to eat and what to expect proved that this is one hell of a place to go to get spoilt for choices.

PG warned that the servings here lean towards the heavier scale, and feeling adventurous, we decided to order few dishes and share. Yup, we made the right decision... hehe...
Spaghetti with chicken chunks in tomato sauce. Dont be put off by the appearance - it actually tasted real good! Though looking like an average plate of spags prepared at home, but it was delicious! With generous toppings of Parmesan too! Yummy! See how the spag filled the plate? Hehe...

Cheese naan!!! Definitely among the best I've tasted. And the cute part is that they come with a serving of sweetened condensed milk too! And this cook was not a stingy fella - almost EVERY part of the naan was tainted with cheese! And what sets it apart form others? - they added Parmesan cheese in it too! Sedaaaaappppppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!

One of their specialty drinks - Ribena with Longan! In a huge glass! C and I shared this drink and believe me, almost every other table ordered this too. A refreshing drink - up till C reminded us how it reminded her of her childhood memories of watercolors... Er....

On top of that, we ordered Tomyum Soup and Beef Lasagne too. The tomyum soup was thick and unlike those stingy mamak who gives you the occasional prawn. This was heavily dosed with prawns, sotong and chicken. A very good soup though the beef lasagne was a lil disappointing.

Since was highly recommended by few, I would recommend this place myself too. Of course, dont expect a spick-and-span clean place - its a typical mamak material, by the roadside somemore, crowded somemore, hehehe... And go prepared with tissues - I didnt see any fan around, kekeke....

Definitely will return. Anyone care to join me? :P

Rate 7 / 10 for the food.

When my heart grows fonder...

* WARNING : A sentimental entry *

Was driving home from Hanis' apartment, the empty roads and still night air tugged at my chest of memories. It had been truly some time since I last drove alone late at night. Couldnt help feeling nauseated as my vision clouded and took me down the memory lane.

While at Hanis', we looked through her photo album. Though I knew her for just 3 years, it seemed that we etched plenty of memories together. Looking back, I saw how myself not only looked different, but I also feel and thinks differently now. We came across pics taken during our waterfall trip in Semester One (year 2003) - my hair were much longer, my skin less contaminated * :P *, my smile more genuine. I looked - happy and glowing. Then, pics taken 2-3 semesters later - hair lil shorter, skin getting worse, lost that glow, and that smile - lose its megawatts capacity. Finally, pics taken last year - skin worsen, no glow and smile animatedly *gawd*

I witnessed how much I've changed in just 3 years. It triggers the thought - how about the many years before? How much did I change? Did I change towards the better or worse? What triggered the changes?

When I find myself couldnt answer those questions, memories shuffle through my mind. My heart pulled and tugged by the memories.

I remembered how Iro came into my life. How he taught me to love and care. How he became my best friend. How he came to my side whenever he sensed I am feeling weary. How he curled into my lap when he knew I am crying. How he painted many fond memories. How he left me.

I remembered my years in St John Ambulance Malaysia. How it added zests to my life. The opportunities it allowed me to take. The people I met through it. The invaluable experiences and loyal friends I accumulated through it.

I remembered my experience of growing my hair long. It happened when I were 14 years old. Yeah, my dad demanded me to keep short hair from young. I recalled the encouragements and also discouragements * yes, I remembered clearly who said them and what exactly they said * I remembered the excitement of buying my first hair accesories.

I remembered my first kiss * blushing severely * You know who you are * wink* and am still able to rewnd the scene photographicly :) That short, swift goodbye kiss on my left cheek. Thanks dear, you are really one sweet boy... How my heart thudded all the way home after that.

I remembered all my heartbreaks. How I poured my tears out the same way my heart was gushing blood profusely from the break. How supportive my cheemuis were those times. How they comforted me, how they willingly listen to me rant again and again and again about it.

I remembered all those cycling trips with CH. Yes, until once we kena questioned by the patrolling police. Though he has changed a lot these past 2-3 years, and also becoming too busy to be by me, I never failed to remind myself of how supportive and how loyal a 'hing tai' he used to be of mine. How he gave creative and insightful advices and patiently allows me to finish my 'cries', without once asking me to stop.

I remembered all my long chats over the phone with WA. And the umpteeth time her mum or my mum yelled at us to end the calls :P How we used to cycle to meet up and chat. How we shared our tears. How we watch each grow emotionally.

Too many things surfaced as I open this chest of memories. It definitely take days to blog all about it. But one thing that I realised bluntly is ...

How I learned to appreciate and treasure all my memories and the lessons that came with each. I truly loved and still loves all my loyal, true chee muis. *mumumumuaks*beary hugs for each of ya!* I wish I could tell you how much I loves ya, how much I wanna thank you people for loving me, for caring about me, for tolerating my disgustingly hard to accommodate tempers, for understanding me.

I wanna thank the guys who loved me, who taught me how to love, who gave me such wonderful experiences on the road of relationships. Though heartbreaks are usually ugly and unwanted, but fret not, I dont despise you guys, things just didnt work out, I understands. But I do hate you all for high-jacking the benchmark *wink* I love ya all, always.

I also wanna gives credit to those I hate. You people only pointed out to me the reality and cruelty of life. You people taught me to be wiser and to appreciate those who are kind to me more.

I am learning how to be an adult. These precious lessons highlighted the fact that people DOES change, so do I. What next to do is to - "learn from mistakes, progress from your experiences"

Thanks for everything.

Men ...

This morning was one hell of a funny morning - as I encounterd several incidents which drew a smile on my face, making my efforts to drag myself out of bed worthwhile.

While having brunch in the local coffee shop near my uni, an Indian family of 4 were eating on a table behind mine. Unable to escape the typical syndrome of these kind of people who seems to enjoy setting their handphone ringtones to the max and broadcasting their conversations to the public, I couldnt help but overheard this, " Ya, ya, sekarang baru sampai traffik light. Sekejap lagi je." WTF? He was only halfway through his wan tan mee and kopi.

So you see, when men tell you that they are on the way, it actually meant that they are on their way FINISHING WHATEVER THEIR DOING B4 STARTING ON THE JOURNEY TO MEET YOU. A lesson revised this morning.

Shortly after that broadcast, I cant help but witness another incident which makes me giggle over my glass of teh-O-ais. A few tables aheas, sat this old chinese couple with their grandson, having breakfast. There's this Indonesian maid working for the coffee shop who are young, slim and rather pretty. This ah-pek was supposedly feeding his grandson had his hand paused midway in the air in front of the little boy. Why paused? Well, my dears, he was checking out the young, slim Indonesian maid - complete with the hamsap, drooled gaze. The poor boy were trying to reach that spoon to be fed while Granpa was busy oogling young maids. His wife - was too busy stuffing her face to notice - or maybe just dont bother to notice :P

Soon after that, another ah-pek - who is the taukeh of the coffee-shop catched my attention. He sat at the table opposite mine - SURROUNDED with few other Indonesian maids who works at the mee stalls. He was enjoying his golden years flirting and basking under the attention of those younger maid. When I say flirting, I MEAN IT. He was leaning closely to them, making jokes, and, oh my!, the occasional TOUCHING the maids ( ahem! not THOSE KIND of touching ar!) And he was wearing a BATIK SHIRT somemore. One of the maids commented he looked handsome this morning and he replied that today is his 63rd birthday hence the baju cantik.

Oh well, I reckon he does have a HAPPY birthday flirting and surrounded by younger women today :P

The 2nd lesson revised this morning - regardless he is 6 or 63, he'll still flirt his way through, younger women will never fail to have their attention. *wink*wink*

Bak Kut Teh and Fondue

Yay! Cindy and me finally had our bak kut teh session ! *hehe*
Went to this bak kut teh shop in Dataran Prima, PJ - recommended by Cindy * If you go to try and thinks its not nice, dont say i recommend ar! :P*

This is our pot of bak kut teh (serving : 2 person) I find the soup is rather well brewed, though not the best I've tasted. But I shall say, its a good one. Their servings are well allocated according to the price they charged. Accompanied by yau char kueh - yummy!

On top of the bak kut teh, we ordered this lamb stew. Quite sedap actually - though the stew leans towards the heavy side. *Note - serving for one* But it ended up I have to finish up the lamb stew- ironic hor, when C said she was so starved she can devour a cow. :P Dont give me the excuse that we ate pork instead of beef for if beef you could wolf down more! :P Kidding.

The environment - well, typical restaurant. It wasnt that packed when we were there. Price wise - economical la... Especially with the price of pork being hiked and bak kut teh is usually not so cheap. RM30 for 2 gluttons like us - which inclusive of drinks, yau char kueh, lamb stew, rice.

Rate 6.5 / 10

Next, well, gluttons like us will never just stop at dinner, dont we? *wink* After few indecisive rounds around Dataran Prima, we decided to head to Hartamas for fondue - another item we longed to check, heehee. As usual, it was packed in Hartamas on a Friday nite - but God of Food was smiling at us, we found a parking just after ONE try :P So here, chocolate fondue!

Yummy........! The serving was a lil small though, therefore we added an order of marshies. Not only the serving was small, even the amount of choc was low *sigh* Am putting a fondue pot into my list of must haves! The chocolate wasnt all that fantastic but the marshies were great.

Environment - alright laa... but it would be rather comfy minus the amount of guests, but I had a great companion so it was fun. Apparently, fondue is rather popular in Hartamas. Price - what would you expect for fondue? *hehe*

Rate 5 /10

Here, I end this entry with a tempting pic of what I lurveeee most...

Strawberry with choc! * howling in the background* :P*

Well-mannered Bangladeshi *wink*

I was at my favorite tomyam and steamboat restaurant at LG, The Summit the other day. That place is usually deserted in after lunch hours - so there is one of my favorite haunts to avoid fugly mannered Malaysians.

* SP so gonna kick my ass after reading this entry :P - yup, you know my weakness! *

Anyway, as usual, order were placed while I engaged myself loyally to my romance novels. When food was served, deeply engrossed me just threw a glance up while murmuring thanks to the Bangladeshi waiter who served me a delicious bowl of tomyam soup. What surprised me was his reply :

" Its my pleasure... "

Oh...My...Gawd...

Tell me, how often does one gets such reply from a waiter/waitress when you thank them? TELL ME PLS. The usual / expected replies would be a smile, its alrite or at times, they dont even acknowledge your thanks - but this guy - " Its my pleasure "

Oh yeah, SP, you can bet your ass I were swooning in haze after that reply and were still gaping when he walks away. *wink* WTF? Serving me a bowl of soup is his pleasure? OMG... *faint*

Its really rare to encounter well-mannered waiters like him. It certainly MY PLEASURE to be able to have such a polite and well-mannered person to serve me my food.

And without doubt, I left him a bigger tip. *hehe*wink*
