Korean BBQ, Taipan

After the long anticipation, finally, FINALLY get to 'serbu' and 'takhluk' ( well, maybe 'ditakluki' is a better word since we hafta pay for the meal... :P) The shop is located on one of the new buildings in Taipan - faham-faham la... hehehe... On the 2nd floor.

Once we enter the shop, we were quickly escorted into a vacant table. You can choose to sit either in booths, tables or those pseudo-sit-on-the floormat tables. My sexy-legs' cheemui was wearing a short skirt and requested for a booth seat :P

They serve not only Korean BBQ, but also some ready-cooked Korean dishes like bul-go-gi, soops, bim=bim-bap, Korean pancake - the likes. Since its not those buffet kind of BBQ, we had to choose the 'raw' dishes ourselves. Their menu was very patron-friendly as they inserted generously large pictures previewing their servings.

We started off being served with appetisers - included for all patrons wan... The soup was trully appetizing - chinese cabbage stewed in a unique soup, and fresh, finely shredded cabbage dressed in similar-tasting sauce like the soup.

Shortly after, we were bombarded with these tiny servings of Korean side dishes - also included for all patrons. All uniquely pleasant - of course, who can miss the ever popular kimchi?

And their standout quality - they use charcoals for their BBQ instead of those hot plates!

And our order of beef on grill! Muahahahar! The most disappointing part is that we werent involved in the grilling session as the waiters will do the job for you :( boh-syiok leh... And they included halved pips of garlic for fragrance - turned out that those garlics were yummy as well - sweet tasting...

We also ordered their Kimchi-Jiggae soup. Thick broth with generous helpings of kimchi, but lack of other stuff like tofu, meat and glass noodles.

Overall, the food there is good. Free-flow of Tea is served. However, the servings for the beef is rather small. Price wise - not exactly economical - though am alrite for those who like to share meals like me n my chee muis, especially when those many plates of side dishes and appetizers. When you call for the bill, they serve you 'pencuci mulut' of a slice of watermelon each :P

What we dont like aboout this place was their waiters who seems to be very diligent that they cant wait to clear your plates. It seems as if they wanna rush you through your meal. Though the ambience is alright, but it was rather noisy as other patrons too seemed to be very excited and chattered rather loudly.

Overall, I would rate their pricing a 5 / 10 , food 6 / 10 and ambience 5 / 10. Service 4.5 / 10.

Their beef sure draws me back for a second helping though! :)
