Am tired...

What a short weekend – felt as if there aren’t much time for everything. Well, time for everything is a little too greedy – but it did not seem to have time to do anything! * :P *

There are so many shops to score, so many movies to catch, so much house chores to complete, and many of my craft projects in the wait.

* haih… * Maybe it will be a good idea to take a few days’ of leave to simply spend some time to sort out my living space and catch up with life…

Cute Food

Grocery shopping is something I enjoy doing.

Not everyone likes it, many find it very motherly / see-lai / aunty to like to do it. I am brave to admit that I likes it * :P * Maybe it is offset by my semi-shopaholic nature * hehehe *, I find it thrilling to pile up on the trolley I push from aisle to aisle * muahahaha * I find satisfaction in looking for the freshest produce, picking the near-perfect ones and chuck away the ugly * LOL *

Anyway, something caught my eye the other time I was grocery shopping ;

A normal freezer containing crabstick, fish balls etc?

Check this out – Bear Face meatballs! * LOL * With PINK ears! So cute! Something interesting to put into the next steamboat-party menu * wink * wink *

Hair accesories frenzy

I did not know and still do not know what gotten into me * :P *

Saw these really cheap hair accessories – I couldn’t help myself! * LOL *

My Loot! Try guessing how much all these cost me.

rm16.60!!! * muahahaha * Oh yeah!

When I saw this, I did not need to think twice - it just "slipped" into my basket * LOL * White furry hair-tie! Yay! * :P *

Goes into my collection! * heehee *

Feeling Lazy...

Can't help but notice the growing trend of me feeling lazy and do not want to do anything at all. I just want to lie down in bed all day long...

My room is a dust-war-zone, my closet is crying help for my clothes desperately need sorting and donated away, my hair accesories scattered all over, magazines piling as high as KLCC, my study/work table is sagging with various items, bedside table - don't even get me started.

Yes, the alarm keep buzzing, red light flashing but I just can't get myself to the chores.

What is wrong with me?

Retro Nite 2008

Yes, a super delayed entry * :P * I know SP wanted to see this long ago * hahaha * now baru I blog. I swear if it is not the miles of sea separates us, she would have cubit-ed me long ago... * LOL *

This event took place before CNY * :P * Yes, SP, my bad *, my departmental annual dinner. It was held lavishly at the KL Convention Centre, which is also traffic jam centre. Having to rush there after work and needed to beat the rush hour, you can guess the havoc I was by the time I am there.

With the lack of time to "berdandan", I decided to screw it la if I stink the whole room, just brought along my trusty bottle of EDP and spritz away * :P * Having denied the indulgence of a cool shower, I decided to take the one hour before dinner to do my hair at SgWang.

As it goes with my luck with hair dressers in KL, again I stumbled upon a really good looking hairstylist * muahahahaha! * No, this time I were not lured into the shop because of him, he just happens to be there when I am there * :P *

Actually, a not handsome youngster supposed to wash and style my hair, * btw, he talked to me in BM, assuming I am non-Chinese, what else is new? * suddenly disappeared after washing my hair! So, me sitting there holding the towel, looking like a wet dog, suddenly a knight in blond hair whisked a hairdryer at my face * :P *

He was talkative, and super-informative, I think I gotten a lil tired just from listening to him go on and on above the sound of the hair dryer. But he is cute, so I forgive him * :P * And later I found out that he is actually a senior stylist and shouldnt be doing my hair * since my request is kacang putih, and am not paying professional rate * but he stand in to do it as he saw me sitting there in my wet hair and no one else in sight. So I am lucky that day! * LOL *

But memang his hands * erm * work is good... * :P * Really liked how he styled me hair. I permed my hair a few days before the dinner, even the person who permed my hair couldnt style it to my liking, which I seemed to regret my perm at first. However, his magic touch seemed to transformed many things * hahaha *

A satisfied customer!

So, the dinner - well it did went on a lil grand, it was managed by an events management company. So got a hired emcee and the train of performers - which wasnt really good.

Welcoming entrance. They have some dancers doing breakdance and all at the reception, as well as temporary tattoo counter, hair coloring counter, face painting counter and a potrait sketching counter. Didnt take much pictures of that, cos the crowd was moving into the banquet hall when I reach.

The stage. Our theme if the dinner was Retro Night and all of us have to attend in retro clothings to compliment the mood. Yeah, there are some who went through the extra mile and made effort to come dressed really groovy. Me? Just look the part hitting the theme is enough ler - I did not aim to win the dest-dressed award * :P *

My goodie bag! Takde apa impressive kat dalam... Cap and the likes.

The entertainment provided by the events management company. A bit lame lor, they did dance and all but a lil vulgar leh. Company dinner they have performers wearing cut-off catsuits! * pengsan * See how this pic the performer wore a long dress?

jeng-jeng-jeng! Halfway trough, she tore it off to reveal the sexy, hot pantsuit. And even came off the stage to do some lap dance... OMG... Truly did not expect this kind of entertainment at a company dinner...

Food was not good, except the appetizer - got mini abalones! * LOL *

And my lucky streak that day did not end at the salon - I won a consolation prize at the lucky draw! * woohoo * And I was telling my colleagues that I sure wont win anything as I have always no luck with such thing, and my ticket number totally do not sound like a winner - 0002 * LOL * Oh well, small win is better than nothing. Its the fun of having to win something.

Overall, it was okay, just a lil dull and not interactive. People were not in the mood to dance or anything as they were tired, having to rush there from work and all. The events management company did not give a good job, everything a lil kelam-kabut.

Oh well, everything have to start from somewhere... I can say that this is truly an experience - hey, its my first company / departmental dinner mer... * hehehe *

P/S : SP, for more pics, check it at my Multiply ya! =)

Cute Cousins

During the recent (okay, not so recent by now :P just realized it’s actually a month ago – gosh, how time flew!) CNY, had a family gathering (maternal side) at one of my cousin Sis’ new crib.

It is located along Jalan Kuching in KL, a new condominium site. I must say that it is impressive. Yeah, it’s brand new, so what can be less impressive rite? I really like how the management planned the facilities about and admit that the housing area is very beautifully planned – gave a classy feel to the condo. Located on the 12th floor, it has a cool verandah which overlooks KLCC, KL tower – all KL skyscrapers. It’s the perfect cocoon for fat night owls like me to watch the stars…

Like the pool area a lot – mainly cos they have the infinity pool * :P * A very small pool actually, but it gave a superb view. And it has shady trees, comfy lounge chairs where you can group up and chat the hours away – which we did, siap dengan makanan macam picnic pulak * LOL *

Such A cool pool - with the view!

Having young cousins around – okay, I am not sure of our “relationship” as they are actually my cousins’ children – yes, I am that old. * :P * Some of them are really cute, some, too devilish for my toleration * :P *

This sexy young man is my cousin, Victor. When he was a baby, he looked suspiciously like my son – I can pass telling people that he is mine * LOL * I hereby post a sexy, half naked male to feast on * :P *

Yeah, baby - Male in RED trunk! * LOL * How's that SP? You likey? * :P *

This cutie here was jealous – he was standing next to me, but I only took Victor’s pic * LOL * So, I have to take his picture too. You know what is so cute about him? He even asked to check out the picture – must get his approval fisrt, if not nice must take another one! Children nowadays… * LOL *

I like this shot a lot. I called him out to take a picture as he looked so cute glistening in pool water, and sweetie him reluctantly flashed me a smile * LOL *

My Book Prize Award

With my Book Prize Award book vouchers (if you can remember, I got that during my convo), I went on a book-shopping-spree! * LOL *

Had a really fun time - the joy of piling up my basket with book after book which I fancy, without have to worry about the prize, and best yet, of how much I have to pay * LOL *

The funny part was, I were so caught up cruising from aisle to aisle while piling up book after book, I guess I must have looked pretty “wild” in my spree, the MPH guy can’t help but walk to me with a basket in hand and ask if I would like him to hold the basket for me * LOL * Oh yeah – I was having that much fun * :P *

My stack of new books! Ahh... How I lurve the smell of new pages...

I lost the pictures of the other books I bought - damnit! In total, I got 20 books! * muahahahaha * Oh well, biarla, I malas mau take the pics again cos I already arrange them nicely at my bookcase * :P *
But memang very gembira - am glad I got the award * wink * If only I can do this more often * :P *

I lurve this book!

* SP!!! THIS IS ONE BOOK I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO READ IT!!! If you have not, that is *

This is one book that left a big impact on me - it made me laugh out loud and sob uncontrollably. S-E-R-I-O-U-S-L-Y.

Most of us, at some point of our life bound to have had a pet. It’s always those 1st pets that tug your heartstrings. Reading this book brought back a flood of memories I had with Iro, making it a heart-warming journey. What I truly like about this book is the way John Grogan tells his story of his life with Marley. It can easily be any story of an owner who loves his pet dearly, as it is a pretty common tale you can hear among pet owners, gushing or complaining about their pets. But he made it a totally different experience.

John Grogan is a fantastic writer – the way he made very accurate description about his life with Marley amazes me, it is so pictorial, and I can picture it vividly. His chosen words made Marley came alive to the reader, I swear I can almost feel Marley’s doggy breath too * :P *

I am someone who rarely smiles, laugh or cry while reading. THIS IS ONE HELL OF A BOOK WHO MADE ME DID ALL ACTIONS MENTIONED. And what I meant by crying isn’t that tear or two or misted eyes I get at some stories – I launched into a full-blown sob at Marley’s story in the end. At some points, it is so funny, I laughed out LOUD * :P * Oh yeah, that’s how good I felt this book is.

He made people with dogs revisit those reasons why we love them, he tells people who have not had a dog the magic of pets can bring. Like how he mentioned how Marley taught him about life, I think John Grogan taught the readers on how to bond with you pets. He and his family took really good care of Marley despite his mischief, where many abandoned pets due to the same reasons; they took it bravely and love Marley fiercely. Enough said, I give this book high recommendation. Read it, even if you don’t have a dog before, John Grogan’s storytelling skill is marvelous enough to keep you engrossed.

SP – his words is fantastic. Lelaki yg pandai menggunakan bahasa untuk memikat hati pembaca. I am sure you will like his style of writing * wink * wink*

Love this book a lot!

Check out my new bookmark - I was busy crying while reading the book, now I cant find where I placed it * silly me *

This is what I am currently reading. A book on Change Management. Got it for free and must read as well as review it on the 19th of March - joined this bookclub in my company * hehehe * Wish me luck! * LOL *

Vivo

Tried this pizza place at TheCurve where it advertise how it is serving the American ( or was it Italian? I know Pizza originated form Italians, but this shop's motto somehow I think is American if I have not mistaken... anyway...) way of pizza. In we go but they is no American nor Italian feel to it - from the decor to food to the way the staff serviced you, nope - nothing that represents those culture.

The one thing which surprises me was how "asian" their menu looks like. Forgive me if I get this wring - dunno who copy who la har, but their menu suspiciously reminds me of those from CharChanTeng or thos Chinese Cafes, with its list of colourful drinks and all. You gotta see it to get what I am trying to say.

Foodwise, it is, well, up to the pricing standards. Bearable taste, with nothing to their boast of American or Italian quality. Presentation was not bad though.

I am truly disappointed with my drink! It owns a very impressive name - Caribbean lemonade - but it is presented... Well, you judge for yourself. For something which costs more than rm5, to be placed in a presentation like this, I nearly thought the waiter brought me the wrong drink.

Appetizer - seafood platter. There's scallop leh! * LOL * No, the round tingy wasn't calamari, but onion rings * LOL *

Lasagna - nothing, it didnt leave any impressions upon me - just try not to order it, not worth trying despite it looked good on the menu.

The mini pizza - Mushrooms! Lots of them! * hehehe * This was okay, though the mushrooms tasted a bit bitter...

Delivered Package

Okay - as promised, picture of the box I received which contained my brand new laptop. Its actually huge as it held not only my laptop but the docking accesories as well.

Yeah, will have to lug it to and fro office from now onwards...

My delight in unpacking it. I though they would just plop the laptop onto my desk, truly didn't expect them to give me in its delivered state, and to my panic, I have to assemble the docking system by myself. Knowing I have the touch of destruction and am clueless with tech gadgets, thank God it all got assembled with least horror * wink * wink *

Bubur cha-cha

Will blog about my Pangkor Trip as soon as I am done with all the backlog entries * :P * Sorry guys, memang banyak sangat backlog - I know, my apologies...

I got my brand new laptop today!!! For my mobile office * heehee * And my kind colleague actually put the big box on my desk, complete with the keyboard and the docking for my workdesk - so I was like an excited kid on Christmas morning opening my present! * LOL * Took a pic of the box - maybe will put it up later. Really like my new desktop keyboard - its the "silent" kind, unlike the one I am using now - i think people from 4 cubicles away can hear me typing furiously * :P * Unfortunately, as my bad luck history with tech gadget goes, there's fault with it - apparently something not right as the display seems a lil blurry. Only 2 hours into "caressing" it, there he goes to the IT department to get a "fix" * sigh... *

Alright - back to my topic for today. It was rather some time ago, back during December 2007 with W@i during her trip back.

There's this stall in SgWang rooftop which sells porridge, tong-sui and finger food - mostly Chinese snack / delicacies. Always wanted to try it but never did as it is always lunch hour by the time we arrive in KL. So this time, tried it and yeah, its rather good.

Price wise its economical, portion wise is good. Presentation - not bad, quality - alright, taste - good.

My bowl of pei-taan-saau-yuk porridge. Good consistency - I dislike watery kind. There wasnt yau-char-kwei, you must place an additional order for it.

Bubur Cha-cha! Good quantity of faan-shu given, FYI, i dont like the keladi * :P * Soup consistency is good, again, I hate watery soup.

A nice place to have a break after the tiring bargain hunting * :P *
