Tech Savvy Seniors

Having coffee at Old Town White Coffee usually means serving my taste buds a faux feel of olden days' style coffee and toasted bread.

As much as they claim they retain the "taste" of the original white coffee, and as much as we hope to find the taste there, somehow we will be surprised by what we can find there.

Just like now, seated at the table next to mine, sits an elderly couple. Whom hit at least 60 years old. Uncle sits there sipping his ICED BLENDED white coffee and typing away on what looked like a brand new laptop. His wifey, dotingly sit next to him, occasionally stole glance to the screen, waiting for her hubby to finish whatever he is working on. This right smack in the midst of tables of younsters tapping away on their machines and/or Iphone.

Ahh... an elderly couple having coffee at old town white coffee but got carried away into the virtual world...

I wonder if I am still alive or still able to be up to date to be out yumcha and use free wi-fi when I hit that age * =) *

And also if the Uncle will whip out an Iphone....

Goodies at Jalan Batai

Hidden in the cluster of tall buildings and highways at Damansara Heights, there is this kopitiam which sells delicious noodles to feed the hungry office ladies and gentlemen.

My colleagues have always been talking about the famous noodles and rojak at Jalan Batai, and finally got to check it out.

The much talked about Rojak Buah. Well, indeed it was good, but I somehow prefer the one at Sin Kong, Taipan * hehehe *

The fish head noodle soup - I have never liked eating this dish as I am afraid of the fishy smell which always overwhelms me. However, this one is fragrant and apparently they use very fresh fish.

The wan tan mee was good as well. But it is really a nightmare trying to get a seat to eat as well as the afternoon heat. And mind you, it is those typical old, not properly maintained kopitiam - so dont think about eating there if you do not have a strong stomach! However, on the day you really in the mood to get good food for lunch and willing to brave the heat + crowd, do go over to Jalan Batai and reward your taste buds.

BB Cream - Skin 79

Of all the craze and hype of BB Cream which recently seemed to mellow down, it was highly impressive when it hits the market. I, am one who was impressed with this creation.

However, of the many many brands who sells their BB cream, so far, this is one I would recommend for fellow beauties out there to try.

The texture is really smooth and color blends in well to your skin tone without looking cakey. its easy to blend the cream in your skin as well, without you needing so much patting. Of course, the multi function BB Cream which promises so many much benefits - how can one resist right?

The best thing is that the coverage is complete but leave you looking natural. You dont look like you have a can of paint on your face and my pig-skin feels comfy with thoughout the whole day. Most foundations or BB cream irritate my skin in a way where by mid-day, my skin will itch. This one did not cause such prob.

By far, this is one of my fav BB cream. It can be a lil pricey in the family of BB cream, but if you could get it overseas, it appears to be cheaper than to buy it in KL.

Fun at the Bakers' Supply Shop

It had been ages since I last baked anything. Seriously.

Not that I dropped that hobby - though I wish to defend that I am still very much passionate with baking! - but I am for sure know that I have been lazy, very lazy.

I guess working adults face this dilemma - unless you are a working wife and mother which drives you to squeeze every second out of every minute, or you are a hyperactive person who has high energy 24/7.

So what triggers me to run a trip all the way to my fav Bakers' Supply Shop in Glenmarie? An addidtive Iphone application * haha! * Was playing Bakery Story and it sort of make me want to bake real time too other than virtually.

I spent a whooping one hour and a half there - choosing my stuff with the other half of the time ogling at the nice-to-haves. If only I have a rich hubby who can afford to indulge me with my hobbies and not needing me to report to anyone other than him * =P *

A reminder to all : Please do not get carried away when you are in there! The price tags look harmless, of a Rm5 here and a Rm 6 there. The check-put bill is what will harm your wallet.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself, and vow to bake over this long weekend. With CNY about a month away, good to jump start my "baking engine" and hopefully am able to produce some edible cookies for my dearies as a token of appreciation * =) *

Christmas 2010

Christmas was anticipated, came and gone with 2 days more of 2010. I find this year's Xmas decors more elaborate than the last - could this be a sign the economy is better or just another war of the malls to attract more shoppers? Whichever or whatever the reason it is, my eyes feasted on this and no complains! * =) *

Which one did I like most, someone asked me last Thursday. Of course I will choose Midvalley Megamall. Their main theme of teddy bears - HUGE ONES! - and toys brought the inner child out of everyone!

They even have carousel horses! My Fave! And it looked eerily like the one I have next to my bed but like 100 times bigger!

And What everyone likes most about Xmas would be......

Presents! All mine! Muahahahahaha!

Mr Boo tumbler! It is so hard to find NICI merchandise of Mr Boo and here I got one! I can now have guzzle away with my favorite companion! Thanks VGC for this!

P/S : Apologies for those whom requested for the Xmas hat as on Mr Boo above, I couldnt make them in time. Will try to crochet more for you who likes it the next Xmas ya!

Shangri-La Putrajaya

Checked into Shangri-La Putrajaya for a meeting recently and was a lil impressed how this hotel tucked away in Putrajaya has a very intimate and quiet aura to it much to my surprise. The hotel itself is not huge, and are surrounded by lush greeneries located on top of a small hill.

The moment you check-in, you find yourself at a quiet, peaceful location as if you are away in some remote place - do not have any trace of feeling that you are still in town.

Somehow nowadays hotels fancy such "sexy" set-up where one can have access of either looking into the bathroom or able to practically step INTO the bathroom. Such insecurities if you have to share the room with someone who can cheekily just walk in or watch you taking a bath...

For the vain you to get ready to go out...

I like their very spacious bathroom - which is almost the same size with the sleeping area as well as giving me the option of a bath and a shower cubicle at the same time. Bubble bath time!

And this is something light up my visit - a carefully thought item along with their toiletries - hair band for the ladies (or some gents) to tie your tresses! I may be jakun, but this is the first time I checked into a hotel which provides me a hairband * =) *

This is definitely a nice place to go for a quick getaway nearby the city if you dont want to travel away from KL/Selangor - peace and serenity in an hour's drive (or less).
