Thai food

We unexpectedly tumble upon this restaurant while killing our time waiting for our movie to start. At the Summit USJ, on the ground floor. It actually was opened quite some time ago, but it being located in the far end of a corner of the already 'peaceful' shopping complex, its only natural for us not setting our asses in there.

But, boy-oh-boy it was a pleasant surprise!

Called the Black Canyon, they serves fusion Thai cuisines. It certainly didnt come across our minds that this hidded restaurant is actually chic and unique. What impressed me first was their VERY well presented.

They call it a 'Magazine Menu' where they inserted few articles on health and wellbeing in the menu. Their 'Magazine Menu' has very beautifully taken pictures of their cuisines as well as offering a good lot of variety. They offer so banyak choice, they have one menu for food and another for drinks. Ya, a norm to have separate menus rite? But you must go see theirs to know what I mean. Their drinks menu again impressed my ass off. Make you wanna drink every single one. Dont even start on the pics of their desserts...

And here, you get what you see. Their food is well presented and look 85% like what pictured in the menu. Unlike some restaurants' whose menu's pics look ' theen har mou tik ' but turn out looking like hell being ran over. And, OMG, their tomyum is fabulous! Fell in love with their tomyum liao! :P Go and try, I will recommend this place to go when one is in the Summit USJ. Its quiet with good decor as well as comfortable settings. Price is alrite as their food came consistent with their price.

Another place I've tried lately is the Dapur Vietnam in OneUtama. Well, before my experience there, I received good reviews about them. Not that they are very bad, just not as good as I anticipated. Tried their beef noodle - was nothing impressive or extraordinary but me and C definitely liked their fried onion * sowwee, i forgot what they were actually called :P * which is actually stuffed onion dipped in batter and deep-fried. Yummy!

As for the drink, feeling adventurous that noon, tried their speciality - forgot what-its-name, but its a mixture of dried longan, white fungus, red dates and agar-agar. It tasted like soap to me. Eewwww!

Maybe should try other stuff the next time there, as they have some interesting dishes on their menu.

Rate : Food 5/ 10, Customer service 6/10, Price 4/ 10, Ambience 6/10 ( if you like privacy, their high-walled cubicles provided just that and their dark lightings in the restaurant clouded the atmosphere with comfortable, cozy settings.
