Kerang Bakar

I am someone who doesnt like see hamm but this is one place where one can witness me disregard my grace and start kopek kerang :) Introduced to this place by Pammie a while ago, I quickly gotten hooked onto their cockles...

A Malay cuisine restaurant, ( SP so gonna hate their name :P ), Restoren Yaya in USJ 14. Not sure if they are open in daytime as I usually visits when night falls. Hey, where syiok kopek kerang in the sweltering heat?

Actually they just 'bakar' or grill the cockles. What makes the cockle appealing to me is that they are no longer bloody as the grilling sort of dries them up a bit and the sauce that accompanies. It is a sweet chili sauce laced with peanut sprinkle - added a fragrant aroma to it which pairs extremely well with the cockles.

Nasi Goreng Belacan Pedas - which the chef take it to heart and made it VERY pedas for me :/ But sedap anyway, hehe...

This place offers the usual dishes Malay cuisine offers - semua itu nasi goreng-goreng, Thai ala Malay style, ikan bakar and even western food ala Malay style jugak. Their food there is alright but one really must go there for their kerang bakar. What adds to a fun night to sit in open air and kopek kerang while rambling nonstop with friends? And their pricing is economical - rm3.50 for a plate of kerang bakar - a good place to hang out when the 'dry' season of your pocket hits... :P

Food 8 /10 for their kerang bakar, 5.6 /10 for the rest of the menu, 7 /10 for price, alamak... their ambience and service tak payah rate la - its just like a mamak place - go figures... *wink*
